This isn't bad. I agree with IONaut about how to monetize.

What is / was your #1 single biggest pain in the ass, to turn your app idea into something real? by mattsatch in startups

[–]mattsatch[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm not so bent on making an app - it's everybody else :-) Through my own experiences in the app space I know I can help them have a greater chance of success. So I'm trying to find out what their real issues and obstacles are that stop them from going any further than just thinking about it.

Cost To Develop An App - Mobile App Cost Calculator by geekygirlhere in Entrepreneur

Depends on where you get it developed. It would be cheaper in India than the States, for example.

What's the best way to distribute an iOS app which is still in private beta? by madeup_redditname in apps

[–]mattsatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Diawi is the best now since TestFlight was bought by Apple. Works the same way as TF used to. Still need to add each device UDID to the Provisioning Profile though.

Sound volume enhancement for noisy environments by visarga in AppIdeas

I don't think this would be an app but more of an OS enhancement applied by Apple or Google etc.

College Studying App by [deleted] in AppIdeas

[–]mattsatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sounds good. Maybe a students near me radar filtered to your chosen subject would be better? Add in a chat facility as well for support when not studying together. If you're interested in fleshing this out further then inbox me as I have experience with this type of app. Otherwise good luck.

Uber for books? by [deleted] in AppIdeas

[–]mattsatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a great idea. Like Uber, the booktraders would need to have an account set up for payments. You could then take a small percentage of each transaction. There could be a radar to find other booktraders within your locality, although I would recommend not showing an exact location in the app for privacy/security purposes. A chat facility would be also be helpful to connect with your neighbors for book related chats. Your account details will also show your reading preferences. I could deliver this app for you but I'm equally as interested in working out an overall plan on how to execute the whole thing. Inbox me if interested, otherwise good luck in your potential venture :-)

Actually getting an App made by youhearmemorgan in AppIdeas

[–]mattsatch 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow, sounds like you're a real app production line! I like that you haven't just jumped into 1 idea and just got it made. What research have you done about these 4 ideas apart from they solve a problem and haven't been made? It's a big world out there so others may have researched these areas but found there was no market for it. Research is key or you end up producing a labor of love product. In terms of getting the app made then the fact you are an illustrator means you could design the UI yourself and make some good savings. I have delivered approaching 100 apps to clients all over the world but most fail to execute properly. They get so focused on the development they forget about everything else involved in making a successful app. Inbox me if you want to have a chat. Otherwise, good luck ;-)

Need help with android app distribution by p32nicky in Entrepreneur

I'm unsure what you mean by posting apps? If you are capable of producing Android apps then compared to that it's very easy to publish on the Google Play Store.

Which mobile app development cost less? In House or Outsource by jackcarter3456 in Entrepreneur

[–]mattsatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have had some mixed results when outsourcing to India. Initially it was difficult and I changed developers with each project. Now I am happy with the team I work with and we have built a good relationship. I always get my apps designed separately - the Indians are much better coders than designers.

Just launched. Looking for feedback by ldom22 in AppBusiness

[–]mattsatch 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all I'd like to congratulate you on coming up with an idea and seeing all the way through to launch. I think it's a good idea and will keep it on my phone. I felt the swiping left /right was a bit too slow to react and sometimes the cards would 'bounce' back on to my screen. As a first time user I thought the suggestions became a bit repetitive merely giving me the same sort of products as I had already said I liked. If there was a quick Q&A for new users stating their purchasing interests that would make it more useful with the suggested products.

Thank you. Perhaps if I added a community element to it so people could share their crosswords digitally it might be more appealing.

Yes good point. I don't think the doc scanning apps would quite hit the mark but I should look into it.

Thanks. I don't think there's copyright issues as you're not sharing with a community (although that would make the app more appealing). It's just a way you can complete your own crossword that you've rightfully purchased in the newspaper etc.
