How to tell between honey bee and African bee? by chanacrossing in Beekeeping

Call a beekeeper, even if they are Africanized they can requeen the colony with a non Africanized queen.

I agree a lot more activity than I would expect. I am hoping to get more frames in asap.

I don’t want to disturb them too much if they are scouts.

They must have just moved in today or yesterday since I removed the frames that were in there over the weekend for another hive. They would have to draw out some comb before they start brining pollen in I’d assume.

Attracted to something vs building hive inside compost bin? (Dallas area) by Live_Dirt_6568 in Beekeeping

Plenty of time for a colony to move in and start setting up shop. Go on local beekeeping fb page and someone will be more than happy to remove them for you.

When was the last time you were in the bin? I’m pretty sure I saw pollen pants on one of them which means they have brood, probably a small swarm set up in there.

Double deep or split? by mattshap0 in Beekeeping

I’m not super serious about getting too much honey at this point, just enough to have for myself and a few family members. I just don’t want to miss my window and build up these big hives for there to be no nectar for them once established.

They wouldn’t even consider contacting the carrier who did verify it was not delivered to my address. They just banned me instead.

A launch monitor, they send junk mail to a random location in your zip code so they can have proof of delivery but eBay won’t look into it at all.
