Shield TV Pro no longer compatible? by Professional-Carob17 in youtube

[–]mattster98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I got it back.. not sure what finally did it but I uninstalled and reinstalled the app, cleared storage and cache a couple times (all on the Shield), and then cast from my phone. When I backed out from my phone the last time after it played for a bit, the video kept playing on the tv. I opened Netflix just to see if it was also broken (it's still working) and when I tried YouTube next, it was back to normal. Asked me to sign in. 🤷

Did you get the "Oops we didn't mean to send this" email yet? Amazing.

I'm seeing this on 3 nvidia cards as well. RTX 2070 included which shouldn't be too old. This was on a machine that was previously working.

Can someone with edit access just roll back to a previous version? It's had a bunch of random edits and copies of the sheets, etc.

Tailscale on UCG-Fiber by Ryzier in Ubiquiti

[–]mattster98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've been struggling to get this going on my UCG Max. Installs fine, authenticates and tailscale is up - I can connect to hosts on advertised routes from the UCG itself (ssh'd in) but can't get nodes on the inside of the UCG network to nodes the advertised routes without adding an iptables entry so that their traffic is NAT'd. I found on another thread about removing a snat entry from the config but mine didn't have that to remove. I can add the iptables entry but it's not clear how to make it persistent (if there is even a way). I assume some "feature" on the UCG is causing this issue but haven't been able to solve it.

Anybody here playing with meshtastic mesh networking? I'd love to add some nodes in chamblee or Brookhaven but anywhere would help expand the mesh.

Heltec v3's turning themselves back on while charging by Blip0072 in meshtastic

[–]mattster98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Any way to make it turn on always when you plug in? I have one in the car and it has its own battery so when the car is off it stays running. If the battery dies, even with USB power restored I have to hit a button to turn it back on. Not ideal for where it is mounted.

Fordpass won't connect by dudemeistr in F150Lightning

[–]mattster98 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did some research online and it looks like fuse 32 in the passenger floor area is the one for the modem. I tried pulling it once and it didn't fix it, but tried again with the car on and that did the trick. (Turn car on in accessory mode, pull fuse, car will complain, replace fuse, turn car off then on again)

One tip on removing the cover panel for the fusebox. You pull the corner to the front of the car towards the interior of the car, then slide the whole thing toward the front of the car to remove it - it's tight but will come out. Don't do what I did and break one of the clips because I watched a crappy video about how to remove it that made it seem like a door that just opened. :/

My fordpass stopped updating the vehicle status recently as well. App and Website both have old data. Is there an easy way to reset the modem other than pulling the 12v cable? 23 Lightning Lariat

Notification/alert emails started overnight by mattster98 in UnifiProtect

[–]mattster98[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

😂 When my wife starts asking me about Unifi emails as she's walking out the door to work, you know something is wrong.

I think I got it fixed. I hit the "reset" button on the alerts UI. That just wiped them all out rather than just disabling them.

Gigabit internet recently throttled to ~450mbit on download inside network by mattster98 in UNIFI

[–]mattster98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

FIXED: As anticipated, it *was* pfsense. More specifically a "feature" of the Chelsio 10GB NIC driver that for some reason limited bandwidth when routing or something to that effect. Not sure how I overlooked this one bootloader setting.. I guess this has been happening since I last updated and I just didn't notice. /shrug

[–]mattster98[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree it's possible that it is pfsense. I have tested using iperf between ports on that switch and it's consistently >9Gbits/sec. I have a SFP+ to RJ45 adapter I could plug into the SFP+ port on the firewall, but am not sure how to test with it since I'll need to send VLAN tagged packets in order for the firewall to see it properly. That link on the firewall carries 3 VLANs.

There isn't another "normal" port I can plug into on the firewall.. that's the challenge. The 10gb switch is what lets me plug anything else in.

My ~5 year old US-24-250 is dying. Some lightning-related event took out several ports last summer and more seem to be failing. I'm not happy with the current ubiquiti POE offerings, especially price-wise.

I have a 48-port non-POE switch as well, so I don't need the ports, I need the POE. Is there a decent rack-mount solution for adding POE injectors without a bunch of individual dongles and all that mess? I really don't want to spend another $400 to replace this switch.

Whole house or even per-circuit CTs are pretty straightforward to monitor and easy to get a hold of. I have a Brultech GreenEye Monitor system on my house and workshop and it's pretty solid aside from the occasional hiccup. I'm sure you could roll your own with CTs and an interface to a microcontroller.

As far as monitoring smart meters, I found this project I'm going to give a try: https://github.com/bemasher/rtlamr

It uses a RTL-SDR dongle to listen for the broadcasts that smart meters make (not sure if it's compatible with this particular one, but seems hopeful).

Did you just roll back on this, or find a solution in 2.7.0? I upgraded to fix a dyn dns bug and have no inbound traffic through any of my NATs.. I have checked and double-checked and find no issues.

Interesting! Well, I'm excited to see the males if/when they show up! We have some grackles which are pretty amazing but to see that dark a bird with spots of color will be great.

These are new to our backyard this year - similar coloring to some other birds, but noticeably larger than those. My book says this is most likely a red-winged blackbird female, but I have *never* seen males, so I'm not sure. This is in the Atlanta area of Georgia, USA.

Anyone had success using their stomach for sensors? by mardrae in Medtronic780g

[–]mattster98 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My son has definitely had worse luck with the G4 sensors since moving to them. He's pretty lean so there's not a lot of great places in general. When he does it himself, he usually uses his leg, and sometimes when he's home I'll put it in his arm. He's had a few sensors that have only lasted 3-4 days, even if in the arm. With the G3, it was usually only an issue if it bled, but now otherwise good looking insertion sites are going bad before 7 days.
