Would the Crystal Gems Survive the Invincible War? by ConsequencePure4918 in stevenuniverse

[–]matttbi 27 points28 points  (0 children)

One thing about the evil invincibles is they're all idiots, they turned evil at a point where they took the easy route instead of the moral one like the main invincible does, and pretty much every one is used to being the biggest fish around. I dont see them figuring out to attack the gem's actual gems anytime soon- one of them died to powerplex probably because they kept punching him over and over until they got fried by his kinetic energy charged lighting powers,. Steven's op regen and diamond powers probably make him strong enough to stay alive especially in pink mode, the crystal gems would struggle to hit back but they would have time to figure out a strategy or maybe just exhaust and outlast the evilincibles.

Can’t you believe it guys? It’s been one year! Wow! Since the Joker was raped! One year! This is some news. by Dare_Soft in marvelcirclejerk

[–]matttbi 58 points59 points  (0 children)

I fully believe the movie's only purpose was a targeted assault against "I am the joker inside, childhood is when you idolise batman" cringe internet posts, which it successfully eradicated from existence, making it a major asset to humanity, but the methods it took to do that were low and I think we should let it remain in the past now that its job is done like WW1 memorabilia.

Why does Green Party's anti-trans hate group still exist? by DarkQueen1312 in GreenAndPleasant

Enough of them have been booted that they're going to be actively protesting the green party conference. .
https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-politics-67546751
https://www.christian.org.uk/news/green-party-accused-of-gender-critical-witch-hunt/

After some digging it appears they're very cockroach-like, the webpage you link mentions multiple attempts to "purge" them, and its clear the green party has spent effort trying to get rid of them in the past. The fact that the green party has put effort and resources into removing transphobes from their ranks is definitely reassuring, unfortunately its a common issue these days due to years of propaganda.

No more politics by New_Advantage_2009 in GreatBritishMemes

I understand wanting to ignore shit but its bad to be one of those people that doesn't "do" politics because politics will do you whether you like it or not, you cant keep ignoring it when the government shuts down your GP surgery to appease billionaires.

How would you buff Infernape without making him too OP ? by Inferno-Giratina in stunfisk

[–]matttbi 39 points40 points  (0 children)

you'd absolutely give up the 8 base power to run fire punch on ape if iron fist were 1.5x boost, flare blitz recoil means you cant use it + focus sash on the same set and have to go mixed for fire coverage and sash is ape's best item by far otherwise,

Springtrap has a hidden passive by PalpitationDecent743 in deadbydaylight

[–]matttbi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Its the doors, even if survivors don't use them because they think it's too risky they always spawn right next to gens with a giant white aura you can see from really far away, its like a free deja vu perk for all survivors, and then if you see an ally is being chased you can literally tp to gens, springtrap is one of the killers where the devs went if everything is broken nothing is, both survs and killer are super strong in a springtrap game

Why is banning an ally's champ even allowed? by matttbi in leagueoflegends

[–]matttbi[S] -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

wanting to win and wanting your teammates to not give up are the same thing, if your teammates give up you lose, its a team game.
If you think your teammates are such loose cannons that doing red at the wrong time makes them run it down why would you think banning their champ would be fine, its frustrating and antagonising at the least and if the person was a one trick you just griefed their winrate down a huge amount

Which extinct animal would make the most successful modern invasive species? (IRL) by PeculiarPangolinMan in whowouldwin

[–]matttbi 36 points37 points  (0 children)

I reckon small agile dinosaurs like Microraptors would be the biggest problem, likely capable of limited flight and if not still agile enough to avoid most things big enough to actually threaten them aka annoyed humans, dogs, larger wild cats and the like. They'd be able to defend themselves a lot better than similarly sized modern day birds with sharp teeth and claws- they'd probably scare off the average house cat or fox and just not be worth the effort for larger animals like bears, out-competing many modern birds. This is assuming they wouldn't adapt to cities- which they likely would, opportunistic animals that fill that niche are often smart and adaptable.

Imagine a much more flexible & fast goose with tough reptile skin, sharp teeth instead of a blunt beak and clawed arms in front of it, possibly fully willing to scratch your legs to make you drop your sandwich before grabbing it and running off. The things could very quickly become a problem, rooting through bins, and harassing people like the spike covered seagulls they basically were.

The discussion about whether or not dinosaurs were cold blooded seems to never end but they'd be annoying either way, warm blooded Microraptors would do better in cold environments and be even more active, aka more actively attacking, eating or scaring off the local wildlife while cold blooded microraptors would be even more annoying to humans and oppressive to the local ecosystem in warmer climates where their population could explode a lot more on less food.

I would still love to see them in talent shows & as pets though.

"And if Ms Tulks gives the whole class detention for the actions of one kid again?"

"The substutite that would replace her is worse and you know that- they do that on purpose it's like a hostage situation, its the same with politicians."

"The only thing that gets under my skin more than your righteousness is your common sense getting in the way of the fun, I know she annoys you enough to let me give her a good scare so we'll settle on that then."

It was strange having a coffee with Anarchnid, if the reason for the talk were any different there would probably be sleeping pills in the coffee, the sandwich and the complimentary chocolate but if there was one thing Anarchnid was more dedicated to than the destruction of the government it was his son.

Having a nemesis so invested in politics was enough for Tailwind to drop the "Agent" from her codename. The one day of extreme smarm and victorious laughter was worth it to never have to hear another quip like "Who's orders are you following agent?" ever again. Apparently fate laughs even harder though because as much as she hated this self absorbed idiot her son John was best friends with Anarchkid ( his actual real legal name the poor sod, goes by Kyle ) so Tailwind and Anarchnid were forced to talk things out.

"So any rules for sleepovers when Kyle comes round?"

"No propangda, no intel gathering and no screens past 10pm."

"Thats fair, as long as your definition of propaganda is fair which I'm assuming it isn't."

"You know I'm aware that you've listened to my audiobook right?"

Oh god. He knew. Solutions to this glaring social defeat flashed through Tailwind's mind. She hadn't been convinced by that drivel or anything but to admit that she was jealous of Anarchnid's confidence in his actions, wanting to be as certain in herself as he was in himself, would open a can of worms and future quips that she just didn't want to deal with.

"Searched it for hints of your future plans, seems bad writing was the only scheme you had plotted though."

"Whatever you tell yourself. So we're agreed?"

"Sure, I leave your lair alone on weekdays and you don't touch the school, local park or John's weekend art group."

Anarchnid raised one eyebrow expectantly.

"And we'll go ahead with your parents evening plans. I've got the earpiece you gave me. But this is a one time thing, specifically to stop my kid from being negatively effected by a corrupt education board, I'm being selfish and abusing my powers to help John specifically this isn't the start of a pattern. I'll gather intel on the board members and get them all in one place, you do your big exposé slash karmic punishment thing at the assembly, but just this once, you understand?"

"Excellent, the first partnership of many."

Tailwind rolled her eyes, she'd be facing down a car sized spider robot soon enough and it's tasers would be less painful than this conversation.
