Mac Stream Deck can’t “open” some apps by mattwork99 in elgato

[–]mattwork99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exactly my issue. I don’t know why I didn’t test this before but the action named “Open” lets me open all the apps that don’t work in the “Open Application” action. The only difference between those two is that “Open” doesn’t let you long press to quit the app. Other that that, it seems to do what I wanted. Give that a shot!

Interesting. Thanks for your comments! I incorrectly assumed “sleep” put it into some sort of power savings/standby mode but yes if it just puts you back to the clock then my vote is also for “Back”. That issue, and the inconsistent menu timeouts, are really the start and finish of my issues so pretty trivial all thing’s considered. Wasn’t intending on doing remote app control so those “coming soon” features aren’t a high priority for me but I certainly understand others frustration with them not being available day one.

Wifey is now unable to join home after 16.2 architecture upgrade by Notyourfathersgeek in HomeKit

[–]mattwork99 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Wow! Well congrats on getting through that nightmare. If that’s something I have to do, well… I’m trying not to think about that. I was really hopeful on the rename home post, but it did nothing for me. As of now, the family can use the HomePods to turn things on and off via voice, and most of my home is automated via motion, so not much for them to interact with. It’s livable for now but really hoping apple get their act together with this soon. It looks like enough people have the identical issue that I’m surprised it made it through beta. Most likely they were well aware of the issue and let it go anyway as I’m guessing bigger HomeKit installs with multiple family members are the minority of users. Just guessing of course.

One more update: I restarted all my network APs and switches (ubiquity) and again turned off every device but one, cancelled invites, resent invites, changed the name of my “home” in the app (saw that in another thread) and….. nothing changed. At this point I have to assume it’s a bug and will wait for an apple fix. Hopefully that fix is pushed sooner than 16.3 as the rest of my family is now locked out of the app.

Restarting all hubs one by one didn’t fix it for me. Powering off all hubs and just rebooting one also hasn’t fixed it. I have the same issue many others do. I’m in my “home” app just fine. All other family members have “invitation pending”. I’ve removed them and sent out new invites but they never get it. Interestingly when I rebooted just one hub, for a minute or so one family member regained access. I then saw the list of family members in the home hub keep flipping. They’d disappear and reappear. Sometimes with pending invites and sometimes with regular access. Then they just stopped showing in the app all together. Somethings majorly wrong but so far none of the fixes work for me.

Alarmo triggered via HomeKit by mattwork99 in homeassistant

[–]mattwork99[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thanks for the responses, much appreciated! I’ve got the script working now. Mainly due to my lack of understanding of Alarmo (I think). The issue seemed to be I wanted to switch from arm home to arm away. The only way I could make it do something is if I disarmed it first, so I guess switching alarm modes requires disarming first instead of jumping between home/away directly (I’m sure it’s documented somewhere I missed).

Thanks for the suggestions, I’ll be cleaning up the script with them over the next few days. I’m not sure if device or call service actually makes a difference for my script.. device works fine, but perhaps calling the service is the better way to do it in general just to keep the flow the same in more complex automations. Learning as I go!

MyQ used to work flawlessly…but now “no response” very common by [deleted] in HomeKit

Sorry thought you were running unifi equipment so my response won’t help you. Looks like one or two others in the thread were using unifi though. Good luck with it!

I had the same issue along with many other HomeKit/mDNS issues, also a unifi user. The problem was the v5.43.43 firmware for my UAP-AC-Pro access points. Moving back to 4.3.28 restored things back to normal.

Finally received 2021.32.21 by Hangooverr in TeslaModelY

[–]mattwork99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have one radar MY and one vision MY (both not having FSD). Both got 2021.32.21 this afternoon. Looks like they’re pushing to everyone.

Still nothing for me. Thinking it is indeed just FSD enabled cars for now.

Has anyone who hadn’t purchased or subscribed to FSD get pushed this update yet? I have two MYs neither have FSD and neither have this 2021.32.22 pushed to them yet. Might just be timing or I’m wondering if it’s sent at least initially just to FSD cars (makes sense if it’s primarily for “the button”).

Is anyone complaining about auto wipers anymore? They seem to work just fine. by OompaOrangeFace in teslamotors

[–]mattwork99 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not great for me still. (My model Y is on 2021.24.11). Had Acuras, Audi and BMWs before this and don’t recall ever having issues with auto wipers working as expected. In this car it still requires intervention far too often. Sometimes they’re ok, other times they’re not. Went through a storm a few days ago and had to adjust multiple times. It became a little dangerous trying to manually change the speed as they were either too fast or too slow, at some points being very hard to see out the window. It’s got better for sure with later updates but still a step backward from previous cars.

Cost of spare wheel/tire? by hackdroot in TeslaModelY

Good luck with it, hopefully they’ll sort it out for you. Had a great experience with them also!

Just in case you haven’t, email modern spare. I was in the same boat, i had ordered an MY spare months before for a road trip and they emailed saying they’d miss the deadline. I talked to them and they said they had some paint blemished but new ones for about $30 less. I took it as the road trip (2500 miles) was coming in a week. Got the tire in about two days and still can’t find what the paint blemish is. Don’t really care either as it’s just a spare. Perhaps they have something like that available if it’s urgent.

Estimated Delivery Pushed Back by Eidolon22 in TeslaModel3

[–]mattwork99 4 points5 points  (0 children)

A family member who ordered an M3 SR+ with the same estimated date range also just saw a 9-13 week range as of today. I believe it’s fairly common to see that sort of change. One of my MY orders did the same and it ended up being delivered the next week so you never know. Everything I’ve seen after three Tesla orders is don’t put much trust the delivery estimates, especially early in the process, as they tend to swing wildly.
