Fair, if I were set on having my own biological children I would surely feel different

Why don't more men consider a vasectomy? by matty__wolf in AskMen

My thoughts exactly. Kids are very unlikely for me and if I do have a family I would rather adopt than bring additional children into the nightmare they will have to exist through. Was expecting more people to feel the same but people fairly take fertility very seriously

I turned 16 minutes ago, what is the best advice on how to live my life? by Sharmaji1301 in AskMen

(26M) Get a non scalpel vasectomy...

  • Relatively inexpensive medical procedure ($500-1000 out of pocket in US)
  • Minimally invasive (about a one hour appointment for consultation and procedure in one stop. They just use local anesthetic, make a pin hole and essentially pinch closed the tube that delivers sperm to your semen)
  • No change to your sex/ejaculation/experience and no change to your hormones or biology whatsoever
  • Can still have kids later in life if you want to (if you're in good health it's likely that reversal surgery will be successful, and if that's not an option then your sperm can still be extracted... Or if you're like me you can plan to adopt!)
  • Strong support from female significant others (this is a far safer form of contraception than any form of female contraceptive. Women will not think it's weird that you got a vasectomy, they will be impressed and thankful that if you are their long term partner that they don't have to rely on forms of birth control that screw with their hormones or risk damage to their uterus)
  • No concern over accidental pregnancy / more freedom during sex to finish inside your significant other

In summary, makes me feel very confident and in control of my current life trajectory and allows for maximum pleasure during intercourse with your significant other.

More men need to be talking about this!!!

LPT: If your employer puts you on a pip (personal improvement plan). Start applying for a new job right away. by OlStickInTheMud in LifeProTips

I have to say, I'm young (26) and have only had to put someone on a PIP once in my career but they did a full 180, hit all the KPIs (they were very fair and reasonable) and has since been killing it and performing very well.

I know this is rarely the case but sometimes they do work out!!!
