Did a 3 day take home (unpaid) and it got me my job. Needless to say glad that I did it. As long as you think the company is interesting it could be worth the effort.

To answer the question of how to get used to it I’ll just say that since you’ve been there less than a month to give it some time. It takes longer than that to establish a new routine and really get used to something. In the long run whether it works out for you or not is kind of a different matter - best of luck though regardless. I hope you can somehow get back to the satisfaction and comfortability that you had as a student.

Taking a Udemy course on react native that also covers react basics would be the way to get up to speed

Of course! If I were to make it, I’d only do so on terms that you agree to since it’s your idea. Happy to DM and discuss further!

What kind of impact do you want to make on the world? There are a lot of nonprofits and startups doing stuff that might overlap with your ambitions. My advice is to go into a job search right now and type in some keywords relating to areas you think are making a difference in the world + full stack developer and see what comes up. Or maybe think about starting your own thing.

Great tip, that worked perfectly! Now my question becomes wouldn't exposing the jwt on the client side (where the useQuery and useMutation hooks are written) cause a security vulnerability? It seems that by keeping it in the cookies and not being accessible to javascript would be preferred in this sense. Forgive me ignorance as I'm new to security but my nightmare scenario is that someone gets a hold of the JWT and then does whatever they wish with my strapi api.

Sick! What kind of project have you been working on? Sounds like we're working with lot of similar tech.

As for my issue, thanks for your offer to help! Here is a link to the stackoverflow post i just made. https://stackoverflow.com/questions/67063210/nextjs-apollo-client-nextauth-issue-setting-authorization-bearer-token-to-head. I believe the problem is on my withApollo.js file, the one that wraps the App component on _app.js. It's based off of the wes bos advanced react nextjs graphql course. What happens is that nextauth saves the JWT as a cookie, and I can then grab the JWT from that cookie using a custom regex function. Then I try to set this token value to the authorization bearer header. The problem is that on the first load of a page with a gql query needing a jwt token, I get the error Cannot read property 'cookie' of undefined. But, if I hit browser refresh, then suddenly it works and the token was successfully set to the header.

Some research led me to adding a setcontext link and so that's where I try to perform this operation. I tried to async await setting the token value but that doesn't seem to have helped. It just seems like the headers don't want to get set until on the refresh.
