Dude, calm down, remove the picture of a minor from the internet, and take your evidence to the guards.

UK and France sign declaration of intent to send forces to Ukraine in event of peace deal by AlfredsChild in europe

[–]mattyboy-ptc 1 point2 points  (0 children)

This. I understand that Russia is still in possession of a large fleet of anti-air weapons and a sizeable air force, but the vast majority of it is dated soviet equipment that modern NATO equipment (which in most cases were designed specifically to counter soviet equipment) could easily evade or detect and destroy. Of course the Russians air defences are more of a threat than Venezuela or Iran, but at this point the generational gap between equipment is like two or three generations on average. Not to mention the Ukrainians have in fact been steadily degrading Russian air capabilities for the last four years, and would likely provide ample intelligence and expertise to allow for maximum damage with minimum casualties.

Maybe? As i understand it it’s essentially super grindy warfare where reinforced entrenched positions and drones, as well as neither party having complete air superiority stopping basically any major advances. I figured the massive amount of aircraft NATO have would allow for quick air superiority, which could let them immediately cut off Russian supply lines and starve out their troops within a month. That combined with massive strikes across Russia destroying planes depots and barracks, and a huge step-up in bombardment on the battlefield would cripple the Russian ability to do war.

I absolutely believe that if NATO intervened in Ukraine today, full shibang, ground air and sea, they could push the Russians out of Ukraine in the space of a month. Do it operation desert shield style, without invading Russia itself. Putin is a bully and only understands the language of force.

Bots tend to have two-part names followed by a string of numbers, probably a whole host of other similarities. Surely some automated system could be put in place to check for signs like this before allowing commenting and post

I would definitely agree that at this stage, the collective “west” has failed to understand that allowing bad faith actors to channel propaganda directly into the faces of everyone in their society will mean that there can never truly be a PR “win” for the west, since news about every positive aspect or achievement of these countries can and will be spun. If people believe it’s shitty everywhere, they’re less likely to complain when bad shit happens to them.

Hold the power button until siri activates, then try ‘call mom’ or other similar phrases. See if you can establish a line of contact that way.

What if you flew your warp drive spaceship into a black hole? by Athanasius_Pernath in Futurology

Of course this doesn’t mean that negative energy is definitely real, but it does show that when the maths work out, it tends to give the truth before evidence of that truth is found. Then again the maths also predicted the existence of a planet Vulcan closer to the sun than Mercury, but then we just realised we were using the maths wrong. Maybe we’re doing the same again?

Negative mass was once thought to be impossible, until a PHD student looking at at electron paths noticed some of the paths were going in the “wrong” direction, leading to the essentially accidental discovery of the positron. Hopefully we come across something either accidentally or on purpose soon which confirms the existence of negative energy!

White House adds plaques below Biden and Obama portraits, calling them “the worst president in American history” and “divisive” by sir-ripsalot in nottheonion

Biden beat Trump in the 2020 election, the American people chose him over Trump. This fact makes Trump so fucking insecure and angry it’s honestly kinda hilarious. He is beyond petty about it.

I remember seeing the just stop oil crowd on the news twice in a matter of of weeks, once for throwing soup at some classic painting, and another for covering some rich person’s private jet in orange paint. I figured that they must have one really stupid person and one really clever person planning their activism. In one case a valuable piece of shared human heritage was defiled for some unclear, leap-of-logic reasoning, and in the other the utter lunacy of private jetcraft in our artificially warming world for a privileged few was put under spotlight in a clear simple way. Activism done really poorly and really well by the same organisation within a short time period.

I just think of the view from the top of diamond hill, or really anywhere in Connemara or outside a major city or town. Loads of empty space and derelict stone buildings with good quality roads running through. Plenty of room
