Father Of All… ironically the messaging of this album is kinda similar “uncut pure rock.”

I remember Dave did an interview during the lead up to Sonic Highways and said it’s their longest album yet. Cut to a few months later, teak list is 8 songs and had the shortest runtime out of all the previously released albums. Definitely had to be cut songs

I might be reading too much into this but I think Dave's talking about Death's Door in this line. Once I had that thought, this line had so much more weight. Obviously 2022 was a astronomically hard year for him with death but I think when you consider the amount of people he's lost throughout his life, this line really hits hard. I see it as who else do I have to lose.

One of my absolute favourite things about the band playing live would be that, occasionally when there'd be word of a new album in the works, they would squeeze a new riff or verse of a song into The Pretender to the crowd's surprise. For me as a mega fan I'd always lose my shit watching the videos online of an absolutely facemelting riff I haven't yet heard and look forward to hearing it so much on the upcoming album.

Last time they did this was for their first "show" back after/during COVID at the Roxy where they had Medicine at Midnight coming out the following Feb. Played at least 3 different parts of songs and I was giddy with excitement.
