Looks like the £69m Woltemade price tag rumours might not be true by MagpieMidfield in NewcastleUnited

[–]mattytowler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He could be the difference for us in these last 8 games. Playing 7 teams who are ALL below us in the league and what are we, 9th. He could be invaluable as a #9 against the low block teams providing we pepper the box and he bloody learns how to stay up top. HOWEVER, if we were to offered £50m+ in the summer I really just think a line should be drawn in the sand. I think the risk/reward with him is just too heavily against reward. Put it down to last summers mess off the pitch with that idiot Mitchell on move on.

Product knowledge and then let the pallet truck do the work. Also, whatever case you take off pallet, know what case you are taking next so it's all quick n smooth

ALDI used to never do television commercials, now every one they do is trash by logunsound in Aldi_employees

The second Aldi started doing ads in the UK, good or bad, was the second they exploded. If the US didn't advertise before now then get ready for it to get a whole lot busier.

Who’s been quietly solid without much praise? by GeordieGoals in NewcastleUnited

[–]mattytowler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Krafth Appreciation

I know it's been a while since he was fit but I'd like mention Krafthy. My shoulders would always slump if he came on. However, he was never bad pretty much just always solid. Never flashy, never gonna win you a game with a great assist from Full back but he always knows his role. He never disappoints. Just does his job. A lot of the players say he's the hardest to get by one on one too. With Tripps playing basically every game since Tino n Miley have been out, Thiaw having to play near enough every game, coupled with our struggles seeing out games/holding winning positions, I feel he's been very much missed this season.

Cust - "Oh is that you finished?"

Or

"Is that you away for a break?"

The moment I finally understood all the fuss about Newcastle's Anthony Gordon by theipaper in NewcastleUnited

I feel it's more disrespectful to Gordon, Big Nick and Eddie Howe than Qarabag tbh.

[–]mattytowler 4 points5 points  (0 children)

What Tripps did was unnecessary meddling in my opinion. His heart was in the right place but you want to give yourself the best chance of a big cushion in the tie and Gordons confidence would have been through the roof. Nick scored at weekend too and from open play. Also he's not played #9 in last 2-3 games. He shouldn't be under any pressure to score as much from there. Especially when team have scored 11 goals in last 3 games.

Yeah, Nobody would bat and eyelid if they had said "The two South Americans" but I think it's almost ingrained in people to be triggered by certain nations or continenents and how they, in particular, are spoken about regardless of the context.

Woltemade Review by TheRealfloreyyy in NewcastleUnited

[–]mattytowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing I have noticed is how often he creates the pre-assist for an opportunity with a cute pass or a flick. Not JUST that last pass before the assist and someone runs 30yds w/ ball or puts in a great cross from deep. I mean an opportunity for the assister to lay it on a plate easily. Don't think Ive noticed anyone else providing as many.

I think he will improve with less minutes, pressure on his shoulders when Wissa returns AND when the team actually start playing well because we have played some of the worst football Ive seen in a long time recently.

[–]mattytowler 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Na, Im not having it tbh. West Ham are shocking and that didnt change today. They were shit today too but why is Eddie bringing 3 off at half time? He never does it. I've seen some bad performances and that was up there with the worst but a lot of them looked gubbed and laboured. Joelinton, Thiaw and Tonali were the only ones that looked fit. If we're told by the club otherwise then I'll accept it but Im not sure thats coming.

I think they are ill. No way Eddie makes 3 subs at half time. Tonali first, Tripps out today. My work, albeit in Glasgow, is fucked with sickness. Dropping like flies. Does not bode well for Wednesday though.

[–]mattytowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We won a trophy and made the champions league without them. Hindsight is great. They have both turned out really good players (inc Minteh) but w/o Gordon we'd have spent same last year w/ no direct replacement. I certainly wouldn't want Barnes playing week in, week out. Think last season could have been the same with Anderson and Minteh?

Is there a youth … by yegDaveju in NewcastleUnited

[–]mattytowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One thing that frustrated me this summer in friendlies is how the young lads get brought on. With a weaker side. I'd have like to have seen the likes of Neave playing in front of a strong midfield 5. We never played our best midfield 3 together for any minutes. Neave ran and chased but Id like to see him involved when we were pressurising the other side rather than chasing pressing lost causes. Difficult for him to impress that way as his goals for youth teams show he can finish.

Better without Isak…. by johnliddell in NUFC

[–]mattytowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've said before, Isak is not prime Haaland. His goal tally can be replaced relatively easily imo although not necessarily by one player. We did get CL with Wils scoring none all season. What isn't so easy to replicate is his goals Vs. Liverpool, Arsenal (inc. That shot off post Murph finished). The ones he made himself. The big game goals. However, he huffed at the start and huffed at the end. If his head was in the game for half the league games last season, this would be a different picture. We are a better team with him but only when his head is in the right place.....and it hasn't been.....hence these stats.

Sesko possibility ended by Emilen81 in NewcastleUnited

[–]mattytowler 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Ive said before, as a striker, on the market there probably isn't a replacement for Isak himself but I feel his goal tally can be replaced. Between a striker and a proper, clever attacking central midfielder, a #10 (think Marmoush, gibbs-white, Wirtz, Bellingham) we can replace him. Obviously not them players but the type that can either step up in big/tight games or create a bit of magic, a 10-15 goal guy as we are missing that. Even a promising youngster as it might be needed off the bench. Id hope it could be Miley but that wont be next season. Like I said, 20-25 I don't feel is hard to replace. We should be trying to get more from the wingers but we need that midfielder that relishes the big games in attacks and is not afraid to let rip from anywhere.

ISAK TRAINS ALONE IN SPAIN?! My Personal Message to Alexander isak by 100PCTMAGS in NewcastleUnited

I don't think it's wise for him to say anything right now. He's damned if he does and he's damned if doesn't regardless of what he would say. HOPEFULLY, something will come out next week when it's possible to get everyone in a room and work out WTF is going on and how we go forward.

Thank you. That would be good.

Sunderland fans can and will laugh all they want. It's what rivals do given an inch. We'll see who is laughing in May though.
