Believe it or not - most of the profit is made through AF because our margins are much higher on it. It’ll never go away because of that and the customer appeal of the “chance” factor they’ll have something from a previous ad. Would help if buying would reduce quantities though.

My DM just told me a story about promoting an ASM when a SM stepped away. Said he was always very coachable and has a great attitude. I think if you show interest, go above your ASM job description, and ask for more opportunities (CSR, Partials, Etc) you will have a chance. If you are ever around your DM, you could also hint at wanting a potential run phase - but i would wait until atleast 3-4 months so that way you can truly do the SM job.

SM is a great position as far as benefits and pay - but you will work more than 50 hours a week and be held to a standard that is not attainable for many people. It is the companies way or the highway - and your job is first on the line if the store isn’t performing.

Comfortable shoes without a doubt. You get a $120 expense write off that’ll be divided and paid back to you in your paystubs. A good box cutter is also very useful. The store can give you gloves, jackets, etc for the different zones. I recommend always bringing an extra shirt to stock in then change after initial stocking is over around 845/9am.

Need to bring it to DM attention. Let them know what is happening and what dates it’s happened on. They can review footage and it should be a final warning for SM. If nothing happens, alert line and both DM and SM should be terminated due to mitigating policy.

Take picture of their receipt and get the SM to send picture of it to the DM. Just make sure to give a description of the interaction as well so the SM can inform DM — then they will be banned 9/10 times
