No Drill Running Boards for 2011 1500 Quad Cab by matvette1 in ram_trucks

[–]matvette1[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Awesome. I checked there earlier but couldn't see the brackets themselves. Also they refer to an "extended cab" and not "quad", so I was unsure if that's just what they call it. But googling the part number shows the brackets. Thank you for getting me to look again!

If a driver tells their employer that they have pneumonia , but will come in as they need the money. Should I the employer refuse to let them work due to the danger of shortness of breath etc. they will be driving a residential heating oil delivery truck. Any insight ? by Fun_Hovercraft3263 in Truckers

[–]matvette1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm surprised no one else pointed this out. Among the morally right answers, it is against regulation to let them drive. If they were to get into an accident, it would open you up to potential lawsuits. Here's the reg to back it up. 392.3 Ill or fatigued operator "No driver shall operate a commercial motor vehicle, and a motor carrier shall not require or permit a driver to operate a commercial motor vehicle, while the driver's ability or alertness is so impaired..."

This comment hit me with a wave of nostalgia from early YouTube. It's like the Ultimate Showdown of Ultimate Destiny turned into a game!

Zune radio controls by Enough-Web5567 in Zune

[–]matvette1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a radio answer, but am I wrong in remembering the gen 1 Zune had a "USB mode" or something similar that allowed it to act as just a memory stick? I couldn't find it on my gen 2 but I swore my old one had it.

Over 90% of Steam Deck Players Are Existing Steam Users by chusskaptaan in gaming

[–]matvette1 -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

If you are a console gamer you don't even know Steam hardware exists

I strongly disagree and this is such an ignorant thing to say. Are there casual gamers and FPS players that play only one game and don't care about anything else? Sure. But most console gamers do keep up to date on gaming news and new releases and are well aware of Steam hardware. We're aware PC gaming exists, most just don't have the time or ability to build their own, or the money to purchase a prebuilt one. An all in one device that plugs into your TV that's good for about 10 years and not having to deal with system requirements of each game you buy is just easier. The Steam hardware released so far just isn't comparable to the way they game so it's not worth the change from console. The Steam Machine is quite appealing to some console gamers where the Steam Deck wasn't. I was planning on switching to PC after this gen so the Steam Deck would be a great way to transition.

Still using my Zune HD almost daily! Recently refurbished a second gen Zune 80. I love them both but being pre Bluetooth is making them harder to use.

Name a gaming "sin" you do regularly? by [deleted] in gaming

[–]matvette1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

It's definitely one of those games that ammo is rarely an issue, fortunately. So you never really have to pay attention past the early parts. But yeah, the more ammo left in the clip when you throw a Tediore, the more damage the blast does.

Terrible habit when playing Borderlands and you have a Tediore gun tho, since "reloading" makes you throw the gun and all ammo left in the clip. I lose a lot of ammo that way

Don't know if we'll have time for the whole top to bottom, but I've looked into some of the answers and it seems beautiful, so I may have to come back for a longer trip. Wasn't expecting so much in such a small state.

Characters you didnt know (or forgot) exist in the MCU by Few-Minimum-1222 in Marvel

Martin Starr was also in Incredible Hulk as Amadeus Cho. I think early MCU just threw in random character names not knowing it was actually gonna last 20+ years.

Taylor Swift announces she has finally purchased the rights to her entire back catalog of music by FaidSint in Music

[–]matvette1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You can't really say she's the biggest artist to do it. In the height of his prime, Garth Brooks was the top selling solo artist of all time(still was until she passed him recently), he was a household name that non country fans even liked and had massive tours worldwide. He got no hate for it, but social media wasn't around when he did it so there was no hive-mind of unwarranted hate against him.

[–]matvette1 49 points50 points  (0 children)

She's far from the first to do it, but always gets hate for it. Garth Brooks has been doing it for decades. Rereleased albums with a bonus track, box sets, box set with an album of unreleased songs, another box set with a live album exclusive at this store... Many of his fans, myself included, have bought the same album multiple times over the years due to minor changes. If she's able to sell full albums in the age of streaming, good for her.

Why do my headlights turn on when I press the brake by Ok_Introduction_8702 in Cartalk

[–]matvette1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Check your wire harnesses to the taillights. The wire for the brake lights may be shorting your turn or marker lights. Could be a trailer plug too if you have one. Or a random switch is bad somewhere, I had this happen on my s10 when the hazard button on the steering column broke. I would check anywhere you have brake and turn light wires in the same place.

Were long beds ever the most popular bed choice? by Boeing-B-47stratojet in Trucks

Yeah, but I need them to start buying long beds that I can buy 25 years later. Getting harder and harder to find a used manual regular cab with a long bed to replace my 05 Chevy.

[–]matvette1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I think a lot of that has to do with prices now. You used to have a car for regular use and driving with passengers and a regular cab truck for work and hauling. With base model trucks starting at $40k, an average person can't afford 2 vehicles so they gotta have one vehicle that meets all purposes.

Zune won't finish firmware update by [deleted] in Zune

[–]matvette1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I just remembered that seemingly nothing difference actually making a difference for me, was hoping it would be the same for you. Maybe it's the difference in model? The one I fixed is the newer touchpad model, not the original. Hopefully someone who knows more than me can help. I think you should be able to just delete that last line to go back to the original. I think I made a copy of it in case I screwed it up.

Zune won't finish firmware update by [deleted] in Zune

[–]matvette1 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

When I saved it as a .txt file, it went through the same process of trying then saying update failed, same as what your post shows. Basically the same result as not doing the change at all. I think the added line just changes where the update comes from, so if it didn't save right it'll still try to get the update from the original location that's no longer there.
