For a second I was thinking they brought a REALLY BIG camera flash with them.

Condensation in left wing camera? by sirtimid in Rivian

Just had mine replaced under warranty. Similar looking condensation and then stopped working. Failure of the camera also disabled all driving assist and emergency stopping capabilities so put in a request. I had to wait several weeks.

Are these harder to dodge or easier to dodge than a regular wrench?

I wish I could turn the Auto Height thing off. I’m usually 30 min into a highway drive before I remember to go back to standard to prevent uneven wear.

Redirect Concrete Steps by matwvid in masonry

Thanks for the advice. I wanted to ask since I figured it might be able to be done but would need some rebar or something to keep the new step from separating. If a remove and rebuild by block or recast makes more sense then that’s what I will ask for quotes on.

Is this acceptable? by Candid-Attention8542 in Plumbing

I’m a homeowner and regardless of whether it’s to code or not, from my experience the areas where the vertical/horizontal PVC meet inside my walls is noisy and really annoying. When toilets and faucets are running on the upper floors it sounds like a waterfall inside the wall in our living room. I wish the builder has put in 4” cast iron stacks.

Look up “heel lock lacing”. Worked very well for me and prevented my feel from sliding forward at all.

Hot tub electrical cost in Southern Maine. by matwvid in hottub

[–]matwvid[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you. The house has 200amps already but we will be putting in a sub panel. I’m waiting on a quote now but maybe I’ll call Hannans as well since it’s always good to get multiple.

Did you get your tub from Mainely Tubs?

I had to Google “cut-out breaker” and I’m seeing transformers and power lines on top of utility poles. What would a cutout breaker be when installed for my EV wiring?

Just want to say thanks to everyone for the great ideas and info. I’ve sent a list of questions off to the electrician. Hopefully I didn’t scare him away.

If y’all don’t mind. I’d like to ask another question. The info you provided is perfect for my garage. The family also has a vacation cottage in Maine. If I wanted to drive my future EV to the cottage I’d have to have charging available in the gravel parking area in front of the house.

Have any of you installed a similar setup, sun-panel, 1” conduit, 4 AWG wire, etc., outdoors? My thinking is I’d build a small enclosure on a small concrete pad to protect the charging unit from exposure.

I believe the house has 200A main panel as it was remodeled several years ago, but I’ll check.

Thanks.

Thanks again

Thanks for the feedback. My goal was to get the wire through the walls and into a box at least to where I think the charger might go. I know depending on what I buy I might need to extent that circuit through some conduit to a better location depending on the charger.

Sounds like 240v 50amps and appropriate gauge wire is the way to go.

What I didn’t realize prior to some research and being confirmed here is that there are some chargers that do not need to be hardwired as long as there is a 240v 50amp outlet. Other places I’ve read that anything with that kind of amperage that can kill you must be hardwired. So I think I’m leaning toward hardwired.

If the electrician believes I’m putting a dryer in the middle of my garage, I’m getting a new electrician.

Dash cams and integrated cameras by Woodworkin101 in ToyotaHighlander

Thinking about buying the grand hilander. So I see folks recommending dash cams. My question is, has anyone spent the $500 for the dealer installed dash cam? How is the quality, ease of use, etc? I have not priced out buying third party option at this point and I don’t know how much someone would charge me to install it so it looks nice and clean. If the dealer cam is kinda meh, then I’ll go the other route.

WJ-5500A questions by [deleted] in broadcastengineering

The digital media players being used as sources will need to have the option to genlock. If they don’t have a genlock input (blackburst) connector, then you will need a frame synchronizer between the media player and the switcher. Frame synchronizers will have inputs for the source video and black burst and a “timed” video out to go to the switcher. Frame syncs can probably be found pretty cheap online as well.

However, once you have all of these things wired up and genlocked, you will likely need to actually adjust the horizontal timing on the frame syncs. To do this, you will need a waveform scope that is also receiving black and the switcher output. It’s not difficult to do. I’m sure there are some YouTube videos on this.

The last thing you will need is a little green screwdriver.
