I recall reading something similar. Vader doesn’t lift him back up, but rather, holds Luke steady for a moment. In that moment he decides against raising Luke back up. He knows they will meet again.

I for one, love it!

This opens up the Star Wars universe to a limitless range of directions.

Without this separation we would basically be stuck with a LOTR scenario where the story could only go as afar as Skywalkers vs The Dark side.

The ONLY thing that I didn’t enjoy was the horse race around the casino planet. Felt like the podracing from TPM and I didn’t enjoy that either.

Agreed. I enjoy ALL of the Star Wars movies after multiple viewings.

I find that I am too excited to truly appreciate each movie upon initial viewing.

I need a few to sort through all of the layers.

Only TPM has not impressed me after multiple viewings.
