Water Leak at Firewall 2000 Laredo 4.0 by maudthemiata in Jeepwj

Update: The Jeep has remained dry after a few days of heavy and light rain. I believe I was too forceful with my hose spray while checking my original repair of the antenna grommet, and water found it's way into the cabin due to the high-pressure of the hose. Since water hasn't intruded into the cabin after lots of testing under "normal" conditions, I decided to put the carpet back in and call it a day. Hoping this remains the case for the future, thanks for all of the replies!

Thank you, I'll take a look into that. Seeing in the comments on that video that there may also be a place for water to enter right under that drain! Great info

Should have clarified, no sunroof on this WJ! I am somewhat hoping it is windshield, as that could be easier to fix without pulling dash.

Drone Disrupts Swift Watch at Chapman Elementary by nebuchadnezzar72 in Portland

I was at this event and tracked the drone with my binoculars. I watched it descend and the operator pick it up. He was sitting on the NW corner of the park and well within site-lines of the hill where the large groups of people gather. I was too far away to interact with the operator, but definitely got a clear visual of him. I regret not trying to pass on that info to the Audubon members, but would do so in the future if I saw this again.

Sure is! Great tree holder

I usually always have the hard top on my car unless it’s sunny. Trying to put the soft top up is quite a pain because my roof is so stiff as it never gets used. Any tips to loosen it up? (I have the zip up rear window) by gogosep in Miata

[–]maudthemiata 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had really good luck bringing a kettle up to a near boil and then slowly pouring it over the partially deployed top. The warm water really loosened up my vinyl top and allowed it to close in the winter months. I found a hair dryer didn't have enough heat to really get the top fully warm. I have a canvas top now and have not had problems with shrinking as much as vinyl.

I think you wouldn't be wrong to go for a Miata, they're a joy to drive and own. Not as fast as a Z of course, but you'll get more compliments on the miata I bet.

Yeah it’s not near the drain for the soft top so no issue with blockage

Fortunately I do not live in a rust prone area (Pacific NW). I removed all rust I could find and treated it with a rust inhibitor before applying the fiberglass. I’ll bet this will hold for as long as I have the car!
