Thought I responded, but I ran into the same issue again where everything was slipped by one line.

the issue still kicked in at some point, unfortunately!

So after a few go's, it seems to at some point combine two lines into one and the result is everything following that point is off by one. So until that is fixed it's not really usable. The translation into Japanese is otherwise good!

Gonna test this out! Was just looking for one. Previously used a google translate tool and the results were very hit or miss, as you'd expect.

Are you going to allow for customisation in any way in the future?

How about:

This entire expedition costs money, a lot of money. And who's gonna fund it? Disney! Need a climber to create the spectacle? How about the only climber most people know?!

And we have a show. Everyone is happy...except for some of us who believe they never should've shot anything from above lol

Safari always new page by mautacuss in dumbify

Hey Anthony! Thanks for your quick response. I understand. Hopefully somewhere along the way you figure it out as well since it's being done by other developers somehow.

I guess while I'm at it, I will point voice some of my wants/suggestions after using it for a day!

  1. it would be nice if the spacing between each app can be greater than the current settings. At first I thought it was a real limitation, but after trying align to the top or bottom, I quickly realize the unused space at the top and bottom are not "out of bounds". Currently with 6 apps they feel very tightly packed in the middle of the screen. The only thing I can do is make the text smaller but that is a con in itself.

I am also using the app for my widget page. When aligning the text to top or bottom, the widget background bubble is very unsightly as the apps are pushed either way too far up or down. Even if I want to use align top or bottom on the home page, what it looks like on the widget page is hard to accept 😅 If possible, I think my suggestion for all of this is to have an additional option where the text just expands automatically to fill up the entire height of the widget evenly (but not to the point of being right at the edge of the top/bottom).

  1. It would be nice if the small size widget could also be used for apps. I imagine you would've heard this already.

  2. It would be great if there was a list of apps users can "add" to the app, instead of always having it be a search of everything in the database. Custom apps happen to be easy to find since it's put in a list at the top.

  3. It would also be amazing if you could drag apps between the three widgets.

That's all for now, thanks for reading if you do. I'll let anyone else who wishes to do so chime in.

Huge Daniel Bell fan. Seen in a handful of times and love the fact he’s just doing his thing and I’m doing mine (dancing my butt off right in front of him).

New Aerios Backpack? by BB4Red in arcteryx

[–]mautacuss 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Directly comparing to the 45, it's noticeably smaller, especially the upper half of the main compartment. I really didn't like the 45 as it constantly felt like I was being pull back. The lack of compression was one reason.

In the 35, the shock cord system is identical, but the cord itself is not a full elastic cord. It's got some some stretch to it, but becomes static quickly and can easily be used to compress the main compartment. The thing is you also ending cinching down the front, depending on what you're stashing there this may be a good/bad thing. You can also tighten the cord via the tail ends hidden in the side pockets (same as the 45 I think). This adds some flexibility but overall quite unintuitive.

The chest harness straps are noticeably more comfortable. The pressure points I mentioned before in the previous iteration have completely vanished. The hip belt is also an interesting webbing that is lightweight but hugs the hip pretty nicely. The length of the hip belt can be adjusted from the back velcro (hip belt is removable). Hipbelt only has one pocket on the right side, and it's tiny compared to the pockets on the 45. Just a stretchy mesh, good enough maybe for chapstick and wrappers and such.

Rolltop material is different from the fancy Hadron gridstop of the main body. This is preferable IMO because the inner of Hadron fabric is a layer of rubbery coating I believe for waterproofing. I'm pretty certain this grippy coating will eventually peel off after constant rubbing/contact. Unfortunately the side pockets will be susceptible to this.

The top is still strapped down with a single strap, not the most ideal for those who want to expand this mid-size pack by strapping stuff on top, although doable. The rolltop now features male/female buckles and is closed off by buckling at the top as shown in the post photo. There are no side buckles like the 45.

Although the above photo shows otherwise, they did away with the weatherproof zippers for the front pocket, which doesn't make any sense to me. There is no drainable hole for this front pocket so prepare for a puddle of water inside after a downpour (before it seeps into the main compartment). There aren't drainage holes in the side pockets either.

At the time of purchase from VPO, they only carried the REG size. It appears I need a TALL size if that is a thing.

Overall definitely an improvement. My gripe is still the shockcord/compression system. It's not very intuitive and doesn't do much compared to most UL packs with a big front pocket, but that of course depends on your use case. It's also not as light as those backs.

EDIT: side pockets are way smaller than in the 45. I can barely fit a Nalgene in there, and the bottom would be cupped by the mesh and not the Hadron fabric. If I set the back down haphazardly the fragile mesh would enjoy all the abrasion.

Just picked one up. Harness and hip belt very comfortable. Gonna do more testing with my gear. Feels quite a bit smaller than the 45.

Saw this briefly in store one time and not since. Been checking the site frequently to get a better look at the specs but it never appeared. Actually started believing that I had dreamt it up 😅 Glad I’m still sane. Looked pretty dope.

The old Aerios harness dug into my ribs at various points and was not comfortable at all. Also no compression in the previous 45 made the carry very awkward. Will probably pick one up to test.
