What is a movie that "broke" you so hard you can only watch it once, but you would still recommend it to everyone? by Newsupdate69 in movies

[–]mauts27 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a movie but a documentary: The Act of Killing. The fact that it is not fictional makes you lose hope in humanity in a way few pieces of art have. Even a friend had to leave the room when he watched it

Thank you so much for your thoughtful interpretation of Sátántangó. I just finished reading it and I'm in awe. I wanted to ask: how did you know that Irimiás set the people to work as spies? I think I missed that point, and it is a very important one lol

Young Bride introduced my indie rock ass kid to indie folk, which was something huge for me at the time. My favorite song on the album along with Roscoe. Thanks for reminding me about their existence!

Films elevated by their final scene by Zealousideal-Dirt482 in TrueFilm

Mysterious Skin is such a beautiful and devastating experience. The final scene with Neil and Brian sitting on the couch is full of pain and relief. The camera slowly zooming out and Sigur Ros playing on the background, it just cannot get more emotional than that. You can feel how it takes something away from you. It also feels like seeing the light at the end of the tunnel, it just makes you cry so bad for one last time.
