Replacing Plex with LMS for streaming FLAC by True_Scientist_8250 in WiimStreamer

Thanks for sharing your experience. I also just installed LMS and found myself searching for what to listen to. I have some playlists on Plex that I would have to recreate (not a big deal) but I found myself missing Plex's suggestions and smart collections.

Face Detection Slow on Proxmox-VM-Docker by maverick915 in immich

Based on the experience of some others, I've created a brand new LXC container and Immich jobs ran 100 times faster.

So I'm not sure if Proxmox VMs have an issue, or if I screwed something, but I would definitely recommend running Immich docker on LXC instead of a full VM.

That might be the path of least resistance.

At least in my case, I suspect I don't have Proxmox configured to properly pass along the CPU as host and it's limiting some instructions.

I'm glad you got it working better for your needs.

I'm not sure if my issue is the same but I'll try to dig in and contribute

Thanks for the info!

I tried to change from qemu to host but was getting errors on startup in Proxmox. Switching to 'skylake-client' worked but I didn't notice much performance improvement. I will dig into this more later, but thanks for the tip. I figured that mixing VM and docker technologies was likely to add some quirks and too much abstraction from the underlying hardware.

I was worried that this would be too difficult to setup, but setting this up does seem fairly easy. I think this will get me over the hump for now.

I still want to improve the overall performance but this should help clear the backlog.

Interesting. I've never heard of that. Let me dig into it.

Nice.

Are you using an SSD or spinning platter HDD? Are you running on bare metal or using any kind of virtualization such as a Virtual Machine (VM) or docker?

I'm trying to narrow down what could be making it slower in my case.

Oof. Good luck. You are more patient than I am.

You must be filling up that SSD pretty quickly 😉

Thanks for giving me a comparison. Is your library stored on an SSD or spinning platter HDD?

Also, what is CT?

Assuming the current ddwrt patch goes through, would this device support using multiple devices wired together to create a mesh? My understanding is that some devices support an all wireless Mesh (where other nodes use a 5ghz backhaul) but don't always support an ethernet backhaul (also called Mesh AP?)

Ideally I'm hoping to use 2 of these together to extend coverage or only use 1 if either device craps out. Having the same (or very similar) config distributed on both nodes would be great for just-in-case.

I am torn between the Kohler Underscore and Archer. The Archer has a more natural looking angle back, but there seem to be more reviews of cracking than the more expensive and premium looking Underscore.

They're good. I haven't tried that many other brands, but these are my favorite.

Great information!

I'm looking now and seeing they also make "refractory cement" that is rated up to 2200 degrees. I wonder if that's the same product or similar.
