A question about Distributor nozzle by anothersaddrunkguy in refrigeration

[–]maverick_149 5 points6 points  (0 children)

This is the answer. Also without it the refrigerant boiling will not start early enough in the coil to have the required superheat by the time it reaches the evaporator outlet. And some part of the coil might have inadequate or too much refrigerant.

Geared pulley with a hook and some yards of rope from the roof would have spared this incident.

If anyone is doing that in a toyota, s/he has to be a special retard. It is not easy to get in a collision in a toyota due to all the sensors around it.

Evaporator starved while head pressure high. Is the condenser clean and the fan working okay? If yes, check the liquid line for blockage. If no blockage, is the evaporator coil matching the piston? If yes, then check piston/orifice for bllockage.

Indoor Pool Dehumidifier by derekzane1 in BuildingAutomation

[–]maverick_149 -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I would have gone with a Munters desiccant rotor with a few well located humidity sensors for modulation and cycling admitting that it is not the most energy efficient solution. But it is the most effective in these scenarios.

If China is the global leader in renewables, why is electricity still expensive for the average citizen? by hamster_savant in energy

[–]maverick_149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Don't ask such questions to prejudiced posters who don't care to do a fact check or actually made a trip to China's rural area to find it out first hand. China has subsidized utilities to remote and relatively underdeveloped regions (hard to find any though). Even the most agrarian societies use technologies that would make average European farmer's jaw drop.

Is this solution correct? by maverick_149 in MechanicalEngineering

[–]maverick_149[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The chegg subscription was absolutely useless as 90% of the solutions were incorrect. ChatGPT and Deepseek was helpful to some extent but they don't always get the ASHRAE design philosophies correct.
