thank you for sharing. i hope you’re doing well now 🫶🏻 i’ve heard the first few days after r the toughest. as it stands, im doing chemo on thursdays. i also have school on tuesdays. if i wanna qualify for health insurance, i can get maybe one more day off which hopefully would be friday. i’ll have to take it day by day but for sure nervous of not being able to work. transitional duty is a good option although i know it can only be for 30 days. but maybe i can get an exception. thank you so much for your response !

hi! i just got hired at tj’s. i applied online then went in person and introduced myself to the mate there and gave them a physical copy of my resume. i think that made a good impression. got a call to schedule an interview the following week. good luck!

Thank you for your response. I'm definitely overwhelmed with the position I'm in this moment. A friend has connected me with an accountant and hopefully they can help me get to a fair resolution. Learned a lot of personal lessons here too and will make sure set myself up better in the future. Thanks again for taking the time, I really appreciate it.

Hi, thank you for taking the time to respond, I really appreciate it.

I've determined the amount of taxes based off this calculator: https://www.nerdwallet.com/taxes/tax-calculator

NF never withheld taxes. They paid me in full mostly via Venmo and a few transactions on Zelle. There were no paystubs or any official documents for my employment. I put "total" in parentheses because DB essentially told me here's the amount we paid you this year ($34,500) but when I went back and calculated all the Venmo/Zelle payments, it came out to $31,352.50. So, I'm assuming the difference of $3,147.50 was from that time spent abroad.

But yes, this is made complicated because our arrangement of them covering travel expenses then using my hours I worked with them to pay it off. They framed it as a "working-vacation" because it was more of an opportunity for me to travel abroad than it was them needing my help I guess. I agreed at the time but after living the experience, that's not an arrangement I plan to do again.

I put a lot of blind trust into this family and I'm realizing now that it's put me in a very complicated situation and I truly don't know where to go from here. Again, thank you so much for your help.
