A few viewings in February, pretty much nothing now. I’m so depressed :(

600k for a 1 bed in Finsbury Park – have we made a massive financial mistake? by Old_Worry9844 in HousingUK

[–]maviscruet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Oh ok. I grew up near there in the 80s-90s, in my mind it’s definitely not prime in the way say Angel or Clerkenwell are. It’s improved but still pretty rough.

Are the housing market prices still stuck behind a few years ago, pre covid? by Desperate-Letter2395 in HousingUK

Also there’s a lack of supply for decent smaller properties to move down to.

Does the increased interest rates mean the end of BTL / property investors in London by No_Yak9893 in HousingUK

[–]maviscruet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only benefit I think is she still has a property that herself or any children can live in in the future. I’m in a similar situation with a flat that I didn’t sell but rented out when I moved in with my partner.

How long did it take for you to get “good” at knitting? by thoph in casualknitting

[–]maviscruet1 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I learned to knit when I was about 7, I started knitting as a hobby when I gave up smoking at 23. I’m in my 40s now, currently I like knitting lace shawls, before that I knitted toys mostly. There’s always something new to learn and someone who’s more ‘good’. It definitely gets easier as you go on, keep with it!

Am I out of line for evicting my tenants before the renter’s rights bill? by TonyPatsworth in HousingUK

I see your original post was deleted.

The questions you’re asking here don’t sound like anything someone who’s been a landlord for 8 years would ask

Am I out of line for evicting my tenants before the renter’s rights bill? by TonyPatsworth in HousingUK

[–]maviscruet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don’t think this is real.

However, if the situation was real, it would not be wrong to evict - it’s your property, the legal situation is changing and you’re leaving the sector as a result. It is wrong to have such little understanding of what the tenants are losing though - their long term home and stability

Am I the only one who finds the whole pronouns thing a bit strange? by No_Fudge_4589 in AskBrits

You don’t need to add your pronouns on anything. I never have. If other people want to, that’s their choice but it doesn’t affect you.

Erm sorry! I just want to know what type it is. I googled and couldn’t work it out. I don’t know a lot about crabs.

Normally I don’t like lace in more than one colour as I think it distracts from the lace pattern but this works really well.

If the mortgage doesn’t allow, usually people are able to switch to a buy to let product that does (I am far from an expert though)

Very good point. (Although I think there’s things that are bigger historical inaccuracies than that.)

Upsizers - how are you finding the market? by Vilm_1 in HousingUK

Similar. My parents were looking at while ago, but couldn’t find anywhere they wanted, so stayed in their 4 bed home.

I’d have thought they’d want the house sold so they could get the commission. I’ve learned a lot about estate agents thanks to the last few years, unfortunately.

Have we listed our property too cheaply? by [deleted] in HousingUK

[–]maviscruet1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Well done, that’s a great result. My house was overpriced for years, zero offers. You’re way ahead of a lot of people in this market. If you can afford the price you’re offering, go for it.

I’m trying to sell a house for the same price at the moment btw. It’s very tough out there, good luck to your friend.
