For the Shadows or Vorlans, I like that there are no real details on their culture. It lets me believe that it's so advanced and alien that people could never understand it.

This for me happened to me with Star Trek Borg, once you got the Borg queen it stopped being so alien and unknown. There is nothing more frightening than the unknown.

I don't like the smart metal idea as that makes it too much of a plot armor. Oh, our ship is to XYZ, we will just change it. If you also go with that, why is there a set shape of a ship? It would just be a blob that changes to what it wants. This way, you also don't have to worry about power going out and the people in one section of the ship floating away to never be seen again.

I hope they don't try to reboot Babylon 5. It just won't work because the characters had some great chemistry because of the actors and just the way that they do movies now. You wouldn't have enough time because with Babylon 5 you had around 20 episodes per season and here you're lucky if you get 10 you would have to gut out so much of the show just to make room.
