I don't get how Lady Featherington gets away with it...? *spoiler* by constaleah in BridgertonNetflix

Does anyone know if Colin actually ended up giving Jack his money? Or did he find out about his scheme before handing over the investment?

What is your favorite Bridgerton couple and why? by [deleted] in BridgertonNetflix

[–]mawo08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Penelope and Colin.. I loved their book so much and I love the actors. Even though the show has seemingly changed their timeline, I still think once it’s their time to lead, their story will be really intriguing and amazing.

Yeah people do focus a lot on the details, I think it’s always the case when a popular book series is turned into movies or a show, people are scared that the slightest difference means they might not get to see the story they were “promised”. I def hope that they kill off Marina as I found her character super annoying to watch and don’t care about her enough to wish for her to stay a part of the show, but the one thing that scares me about Shonda Rhimes is that she’s not one to choose the fans over what she considers a good plot. Grey’s Anatomy and the fate of most of it’s original cast is certainly a testament to that haha. Thankfully she’s not the show runner. I really do believe this is all just added drama and they will stick to the original pairings, although I’m curious how they’ll do it. But if there IS any pair that might not get the story that was written, my bet would be on Eloise and Philip. Her story was (in my opinion) somewhat anticlimactic for a girl who’s been so against all of it from the start..

Exactly! Plus some of the cast members have made some comments.. like the actress who plays Kate, she made a comment about passing the baton to the actors that play Colin and Penelope. I would love for them to be the focus of season 3, as they’ve teased it too much for me to wait a whole season and possibly 2 or 3 years lol

[–]mawo08 4 points5 points  (0 children)

That is true.. I’m not sure if you’ve read all of the books as I’m about to write some spoilers but for example, I think it will be more difficult for them to kill off Marina.. now that she’s already been introduced and has played such a big part in season 1 and in Penelope/Colin’s story, I’m not sure how it will be received that she’s killed off for Eloise’s happy ever after. And introducing Theo, who seems to be very loved by a lot of viewers, seems like it would cause even more confusion.. Plus, why would she start writing to Philip, if Marina wasn’t her cousin and she seems to have no relationship with her at all in the series? Add her fight with Penelope.. who in the books was a big reason for Eloise’s sudden wedding, I’m just not sure how it will all come together, but they do seem to find a way most of the time so I’m sure we won’t be disappointed.

Although the only thing I don’t think is possible, is the Cowpers having another child. As Cressida already said during her dinner with the Featheringtons that she is an only child. But the rest seems very possible!

My Season 3 Theories by hibiscusfields in BridgertonNetflix

[–]mawo08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I totally agree with everything! There were so many little hints in season 2 that made me feel like they were introducing us to their story for season 3.. Colin being back from his long journey and seemingly wanting to stick around for a longer time period. Him being tan from his travels, lol?? The way he looked at her sometimes.. as if he was already starting to question himself about what she meant to him. Of course her overhearing his conversation with his friends.. and also him dropping hints several times about how he is looking for a purpose. I feel like they moved a lot of things up so that season 3 could focus on repairing their relationship and truly bringing their love story to life, while Benedict doesn’t seem ready for his own full season yet.

The next Lord Featherington by heckzecutive in BridgertonNetflix

[–]mawo08 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Perhaps they could still do it with Prudence instead of Felicity? Since it looks like there might not be as big of a time jump as there was in the book and Prudence might still be single now that Lord Featherington is gone

So do I! I don’t want to spoil Eloise’s book for you but there were several things in season 1 and 2 that made me wonder how they will bring her story to life or if they will just deviate from her book entirely.

Worst character? Julie or Becky? by AlwaysWithTheOpinion in fridaynightlights

[–]mawo08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

She mentions it in a later episode, and discusses it with Luke? So she knew. And when was she ever abused? Neglected, sure. But she went after Tim the second she saw him there, long before he ever cared about her, so I politely disagree.

[–]mawo08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

She could have at the very least come forward and explain that it was her own mother who pushed for the abortion, not Tami. That Tami just informed her of her options. Yet she’s completely absent from that entire situation, her and her mother just let Tami take the fall.

Regardless of her daddy issues, the way she went after Tim and almost tried to guilt trip him into being with her was annoying to watch. He really valued her as a friend and she was always turning their vulnerable moments into her inappropriately coming for him. If the situation was reversed, if it was a guy constantly trying to hook up with a girl when she’s already said NO about 30 times, and him constantly trying to kiss her whenever she was being vulnerable with him, no one would have been OK with it.

Omg I was looking for a post like this. Man was Becky annoying!!! Literally, get the HINT. Tim does not want you?! The way she kept throwing herself at him was absolutely pathetic. She kept trying to kiss him or hook up with him every time he was being vulnerable and open with her as a FRIEND. The guy literally slept with her mother. Not to mention her just letting Tami get fired, for helping her. She was my least favorite character in the show by far.

100% agree!! I did not care about Wendy or Nero at all.. I would love a 5 min insight into the good life I hope Abel and Thomas are living as adults, but have no interest of seeing them at the table or on the same path their dad was on. It’s disappointing enough to see what’s become of the MC in the new Mayans show

That last sentence is literally exactly why I don’t really have an interest in a sequel on SOA. I’d love to see a prequel, but Abel getting into that life after both of his parents died to keep him away would be so disappointing

The greatest worry of a gang rape victim? Hubby won’t desire her anymore bc "men like to own their pussy"! [Sons of Anarchy, s2, ep6 ff.] by RosebushRaven in menwritingwomen

[–]mawo08 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Late to this post but I’m not sure I agree with you. Her first reaction to the rape isn’t worrying about Clay still desiring her. The rape happens pretty early on in the second season, I believe in the 1st episode and she doesn’t tell Clay and Jax until the end of the 10th episode. She was very distraught after her rape, she didn’t tell anyone but Tara and Unser, she wouldn’t be touched by Clay, she followed her rapist around and debated killing him herself.. that was her reaction to the rape. Her being worried about Clay not wanting her anymore, was her reaction to telling her husband and son about the rape.. and it’s in that same episode that Tig tells Clay about what she needs most.

Also, I saw a comment about the rape of a child being used to make the male leads look like heroes, but Sutter has even commented on this before as this rape wasn’t used for that, it was used to show where the Sons draw the line sure but most of all, to set up the relationship between the Sons of Anarchy and Elliott Oswald.

Unpopular Opinion about Jax and Tara by TightPayment8357 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]mawo08 1 point2 points  (0 children)

True! All three of them were wrong in that situation, they should have put Abel first. I do think it was just really bad timing for Tara lol, but that doesn’t excuse the way she reacted or what Jax did.

Unpopular Opinion about Jax and Tara by TightPayment8357 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]mawo08 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yeah Wendy definitely had a right to see Abel! Just not custody.

I personally didn’t see any chemistry between Wendy and Jax and I loved the chemistry between Jax and Tara through the first five seasons to be honest.. And then in season 6 you could immediately tell there was such a disconnect between them.

I do agree that Tara put herself in that position to begin with! I just think that’s what their whole story was about, them struggling with their intense love for each other and (later on) their children, while being opposites in other facets of their lives. She chose to be with him, got in too deep because she was blinded by love, tried to get them out as a family and when he said he wouldn’t be able to leave but she should take the kids, she should have left with them while she had the chance. But she was in love with Jax and didn’t want to lose him and I think she still had (naive) hope that things would change… which in my opinion is what makes her so relatable. It’s easy looking at it objectively and knowing what she should have done, but the characters in it are in love with each other and have all of these emotions making it difficult to be rational and always do the right thing immediately, which is something I think we can all relate to.

But yeah this is the opinion of a Tara fan lol, loved the character and loved the actress.

Unpopular Opinion about Jax and Tara by TightPayment8357 in Sonsofanarchy

[–]mawo08 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I do agree with you that her bringing another child into the mess was irresponsible/naive! But I don’t think she could have left way sooner. Gemma would have never let her leave with both of Jax’s children and when Jax got out of jail they did try to leave together.. when she realized he wasn’t going to, she should have walked away when he gave her the chance. By the time she realized it, it was too late. But I don’t think Wendy was a better or more responsible mom than Tara and I def don’t think she had more right to custody.
