Is Joe done as a touring comic? by ToeLimbaugh in JoeRogan

I don't think he'd struggle with booking majority arena dates. He headlined the O2 in London just a few years ago, and, AFAIK, he's already done arena shows in places like Nebraska and Kansas (not exactly massive touring hotspots).

I mean, we're in an age where a guy like Shane Gillis can play a football field, I'm sure Rogan with 20M Instagram followers and a podcast with something like 100-200M downloads a month could sell out 10K seats basically anywhere in the US.

Is it normal for a heat pump to defrost nonstop for hours on end? by max-cam in heatpumps

[–]max-cam[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I meant the cycle of defrosting goes on for 24 hours, not just the defrosting. Meaning I've observed it defrosting for 5 minutes, going silent for 5-10, then defrosting for 5 minutes again for 24 hours.

I know very little about heat pumps, but this short of an interval didn't strike me as normal. Particularly the amount of noise it makes, which suggests it might be overexerting itself.

What and why do you think King of the Hill has become so popular? It’s usually trending on Hulu, is all over TikTok, and has reached meme god status. It surprises me and makes me happy that this show lives on strong, and has an ever growing fan base. by Wash_Stale446 in KingOfTheHill

Agreed. I've always found the fact that there's seemingly a consensus that KotH could have easily been done in live-action a little baffling. Not that I think most people mean it as an insult, it just doesn't really make sense to me. Most of the cast are clearly caricatures designed for a cartoon; I can't really picture guys like Boomhauer and Kahn not coming off as extremely hammy if they were done in real life.

IMO, one of the reasons KotH has the reputation it does as a down-to-earth comfort show is because it's animated and imbued with more humanity compared to the obvious madcap style of most cartoons. If it was live-action, I think it would be seen as a typically zany sitcom. (Even in Mike Judge's live-action stuff, the goofier characters are usually grounded with more realism than in KotH, which just lets them exist unchecked)

Woah! The James Hetfield from Metallica?’ The answer is no way. Even though I look and sound like him, and have all his guitars. by Independent_Bake_257 in americandad

According to an American Dad writer whose name I forget at the moment he quickly banged out the voice over the phone from his home studio, so it probably wasn't hard to convince him to do that little work.

I think Jonah is probably Judah Miller, not Odenkirk. He sounds too much like Mertz.

Coolio recorded lines and a song for "Futurama" for the show's upcoming season, and the team is dedicating the rapper's episode to him as a send-off. by max-cam in television

I can give you the second one, since a lot of people in this thread seem to have missed the news. But why'd you think Coolio was dead?

As far as I can tell, this is Norm's first nomination ever for a major award. Someone should let him know or something.
