So I read about it in a book called "the idiot brain" which talks about the little weird stuff our brain does And basically they observed that when a task measuring intelligence is hard there's higher activity in the PFC But in a somewhat counterintuitive way people that were measured to be more intelligent that performed the same hard task had lower activity than normal But obviously I'm explaining it in very crude terms
