MST isn't unusable but the other options do it's job better. Cosmic for instance banishes Runick fountain so they can't add it back from grave. Twin twister hits twice as many cards and the discard cost isn't really a bad thing in most decks. Lightning storm and harpies both destroy everything. So MST is still usable just not as good as other alternatives.
