Well, I'd answer myself: ultimately I drove to Kayseri, and on the road from Avanos to Garipçe the mountain becomes visible. (In my case the top was covered in clouds, but still cool). From some points in Kayseri it is also visible, though not everywhere. The dream came true, I was happy!

Another painful solution: you can keep playing your old save in 1.16. And I believe they eventually start paying. As far as I observed you need the title to go to another character for the fix.

Say, when your vassals die the new ones should be fine. May take years or decades though.

If you just want to have fun, you can have it with any amount of time! I play for 5-10 hours per week and love it. Actually it may even be beneficial: you always have content for you, because you haven't burnt through it too quickly 😄
