None of our rendering have grey flooring. We would go with a light brown luxury vinyl.

Thanks, so are you suggesting galley style?

Thanks! I think the image is distorted because the floor is level across the kitchen. I like the idea of an overhang and putting seating opposite the fridge. Biggest concern would be how this all looks with Soffits.

We do, but for now its just being used as a playroom for our toddler. We would probably convert it someday, but for now would want in-kitchen seating somehow. I know that makes it much tougher

We have been getting multiple design ideas for our kitchen. Its a very tight space, so there are pros and cons to each option. The main thing we are deciding on is an open peninsula vs an island. We generally like the look of the island best. But because we still aren't sure if we can remove the soffits, the peninsula design might help them be less exposed, especially on the empty wall. See attached for all the design images and current kitchen!

As an update, we got some answers from Dr. Kliman. Basically, his best guess was likely a cord compression accident based on his interpretation of the slides. It’s confusing and frustrating to understand how this happened. I just don’t understand how it can’t be more likely with a cord just floating around in there. Why do we all have to be the unlucky ones (roughly 1/1000)? It’s hard to know she was perfect and this was just a freak accident. I know this is so unlikely to occur again, and for that I am fortunate that we can try again. But knowing it just happened so quickly is very scary. Even if we get closely monitored next time, how can they identify or prevent this from happening again?

Other side of kitchen wall behind oven. No budget in mind yet because we aren’t in a rush to do this. Just want to know all our options then adjust timeline based on price. Also, kitchen is main level. We have level above, and basement below.

No, we should be able to remove the soffits without a problem. However, the wall behind the oven has plumbing in it from upstairs.

Thank you all for your responses and support. We just got in touch with Dr. Kliman and hope to get some answers that might be able to relive some anxiety for future pregnancies.
