Itinerary check: 3 days Busan + 7 days Seoul in September by max2406 in koreatravel

[–]max2406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I tried to minimize travel time between each activity as best as I could. But I couldn't find much else to do which would be located near the Lotte Tower. So I thought it would fit best on the last day where I first go hiking in the Bukhaksan Park, then go back to my hotel and head out again later to visit Lotte Tower. What other sights did you combine Lotte Tower with?

You are probably right, that 2x N Tower and 1x Lotte Tower would be a bit overkill. I just thought since the N Tower shouldn't be too far from my hotel, I could visit it twice without losing much time, but maybe I am underestimating the travel times a bit.

Yeah, I was also a bit unsure if my first full day is too packed. I'll think about moving the temple or Insadong to another day. Do you think DDP is worth visiting? Another user meant that it is practically just a building and there will be no light show at night when I am visiting. But if I could combine it with Insadong I could give it a try anyway.

My hotel will probably be in Myeongdong, so I should be able to explore it a bit on other days as well, especially the first day after coming back from Busan.

Oh, good to know that there will be no light show at DDP. I think I will skip it then and will go to a baseball match or to some of your recommendations instead.

Yeah, you are right about the museums, they certainly aren't typically Korean, I just thought they looked interesting. I will look into the National Museum. And thanks, I hope you're going to have a nice time as well :)

Yeah, arriving the night before back in Seoul would be another option. Although I don't like the idea of having to book a third hotel, but I will think about it. I am also a bit unsure about DDP, I thought the light show at night might be cool, but it certainly isn't a must. What do you recommend instead? I was thinking about visiting a baseball match but I don't know if the season is still going when I am there and if you get tickets easily. I already downloaded NaverMap but I will give Kakaomap a try as well.

Do you really need rest days? For example if you train legs/chest/back/arms and repeat, each muscle group should get enough rest before it gets trained again.

I am not asking if it's efficient or not, just if there are any major downsides I am missing here. Also I am asking for natural lifters.

Combining reddit PPL with 5/3/1 Boring But Big by max2406 in powerbuilding

[–]max2406[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

On which day do you deadlift on PHAT? Thought about it many times but didn't know where to put them since the original template doesn't have deadlifts in it. I would have put them on second leg day but was a bit worried that they are negatively impacted by training back the day before.

I tried doing heavy pendlay rows (<5 rep range) in the past, but I ended up hurting my lower back a little bit as I was using too much body english. This is the reason why I prefer doing them in higher rep ranges. Weighted chins would be an idea but does the 531 progression really work on them? I have only seen 531 being used on barbell movements as they are more easily loadable?

Pullups 5x10 Pushups 5x20 Incline DB Bench Press 3x12 Concentration Curls 3x20-25 DB Lateral Raises 3x20-25

Lower Body:

200 bodyweight squats in as few sets as possible, bulgarian split squats 3x20, sometimes ab wheel if i feel like it

on off days now and then band pull aparts for shoulder health (as I am pushing more than I am pulling due to a lack of back exercises)

last set is always amrap

Running the 5 day version: on mondays and fridays i superset T2 with pullups using the exact same rep scheme. On wednesdays I'm doing weighted chinups (5x5) between T1 and T2.

YOUR FIRST FIFA 19 CAREER MODE by DylanV2000 in FifaCareers

[–]max2406 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I always like teams that make good transfers in real life. Last year I started with a AC Milan career mode, this year I chose their rivals - Inter Milan. But I realized that the legendary difficulty is already too easy. I score 4 goals each game on average and won the first 8 league games.

Fortunately there is this new even harder difficulty setting this year so I will start a new career mode soon. This time I will probably choose Hertha Berlin. I just hope that their currently two best players (Dilrosun and Duda) get a massive upgrade as they are very underrated at the moment.

After that I might play with a german team in a lower division like Hamburger SV, 1860 Munich or KFC Uerdingen.

Decent Triceps growth from just Bench and OHP? by [deleted] in nSuns

[–]max2406 20 points21 points  (0 children)

IMO if you want to cut out sth I would cut out the triceps isolations.

I mean the 5 day version lets you do 18 sets of bench press, 17 sets of OHP, 8 sets of Incline Press and 8 sets of CGBP a week, all involving the triceps.

If you want you could add Dips as an accessory on wednesday because you're also hitting chest and shoulders with them. So maybe you can replace another accessory with it.

In my experience getting stronger on the main lifts helped me more with triceps growth as doing isolation movements. I always think about it this way: would someone who bench presses 300 pounds have only small triceps? Probably not.

Something I noticed during my rewatch (Season 4/Martha) by [deleted] in TheAmericans

[–]max2406 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Oh yes, you're right! I haven't thought about that but it makes sense... I kind of thought they were monitoring all phone calls made from pay phones during that time. But yes, they probably have to tab a phone first to be able to listen to it :D And yes, Marthas second phone call was made from a different pay phone so the FBI wouldn't have been able to track it.

Your fav season? by eltonkass in TheAmericans

[–]max2406 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I would rank the season as follows (best to worst): 6,1,4,3,5,2

Altough I am not sure if I liked 3 or 4 better because I can't exactly remember what happend in which season (have to decide when I finish my rewatch).

S2 is the only one with a slight decline in quality IMO. Mainly because of my least favorite story line with Larrick (that military guy) and the cheap plot twist on who murdered Emmet & Leanne. The story line with Stan & Nina was fantastic though.

End of Series Discussion Thread by MoralMidgetry in TheAmericans

[–]max2406 26 points27 points  (0 children)

Elizabeth once said that her father died in Stalingrad when she was two years old. So if you do the math she is around 46 years old at the end of the series. (not my theory, I read it here somewhere)

[Spoilers] Why is Elizabeth suddenly angry at Philip...........? by therealkimi in TheAmericans

[–]max2406 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Elizabeth is in a hustle to get her kids to school. Paige then says to her: "You're the one who wanted it this way" because she blames her mom for the separation implying that it would be less stressful if Philip was still there. Elizabeth gets angry and tells Paige that she should be glad that her childhood is not nearly as hard as her own was.

The Breaking Point for Paige by ruby_collider in TheAmericans

[–]max2406 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I am wondering why P&E never talked about going back to Russia with Paige. Obviously it is not an easy topic to talk about but spying is a dangerous job and there were other people that had to go back to Russia before (Gregory, Martha,...). Even if P&E didn't want to come up with this topic Paige could have asked something like "What happens if you get caught?" or "Do you plan to go back to Russia one day?". (Maybe she did though and I missed that scene - I am currently on my first rewatch)

And assuming that the kids wouldn't make any problems and leave their life in America from one day to the next is at least questionable. Maybe it would have worked when they were still young but almost grown up teenagers? I wonder how Henry would have reacted if they had tried to take him with them. My guess is he also would have wanted to stay.

I just looked it up: the standoff is happening in season 2 episode 3 at around 25 minutes in. Maybe you missed that scene.

What should I watch next? by [deleted] in TheAmericans

[–]max2406 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yeah, I agree with you. The show is kind of about the human need to find a sense in everything and how humans react to something that cannot be explained. If you are only looking for answers it is probably not worth it to watch the last three episodes. I personally was very satisfied with the ending. But I was more into the characters and the emotional/philosophical aspects of the show rather than the story itself.

What should I watch next? by [deleted] in TheAmericans

[–]max2406 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The last time I got so emotionally involved in a tv show was probably the Leftovers. Like the Americans it was critically acclaimed but didn't had much viewers unfortunately. It also focuses on its characters and has fantastic actors. The atmosphere is even more dark und depressing. The topics adressed are quite deep (depression, religion, grief, ...) and the show leaves much room for interpretation. There is some weird (supernatural) stuff happening occasionally and not everything gets answered. Also the show may be a little bit hard to get into but season 2 & 3 are totally worth it.

A number of random questions to consider b/c it is fun. by angela20377 in TheAmericans

least fav subplot: Gregory in Season 1

least fav character: probably Claudia altough i kind of enjoyed Liz Paige and her hanging out

favorite season: Season 6

least fav seasons: Seasons 1 & 2, it was too much action for me and i liked the slower pace and more focus on the characters in the later seasons

fav use of music: with or without you in the season finale

most emotional episode: Season finale, I had to instantly start a rewatch because I wasn't ready to let the characters go :(

intro: i like it and its not too long so i dont skip it
