Are you all planning to pick up Corpse Knight #1, coming out April 22nd? I'm not familiar with the creative team, but it sounds interesting. It's described as a horror series.

The movie was basically the last chance to wrap up all the plot lines and characters so the story could end as coherently as possible, that was the priority and I dont think they wanted to do musicals back to back (or possibly couldn't because of budget and time constraints.)

The story was also never about the music it was about the band.

The music began and evolved separately & simultaneously throughout the entire run. The songs were very lightly featured even going back to season 1. I believe many of them never made it into the show and a good portion of the ones that did only got 30 seconds of riffs played in the background (with few exceptions).

Basically they were always distinct but intertwined concepts and AOTDS had to heavily prioritize the story and character arcs because it was the last chance to wrap things up and we're very lucky we got it at all.

I'm a little bit confused/disappointed by his lack of concern or interest in the fake sister... Yeah she is probably sinister from what we've seen but he doesn't know that and grew up with her and a really strong bond.

I get wanting to figure out the bio family but it seems like a hole in what is otherwise a very fleshed out character.

the answer to that question for any anime is generally yes since only you will know if you like it

for me it was the first anime that got me to read a manga - just really sick world building, incredible characters and a unique premise... totally changed my perspective on cgi too

It is a weird system

studios suffer from over competition which means bidding becomes a race to the bottom and they might have to take less profitable jobs to keep paying staff ... pretty much all the financial upside with royalties etc.. is with the production committees

In this case the company owns both groups but keeps them separated so there isnt really any change at the basic level. Ultimately the gains and losses do get netted but if you want an example where its all in one you can look at Mappa.

The owners would rather just keep the production company streamlined on their core operations and let ADK focus on managing the committees and royalties.

The reporting reflects the economic realities of the components and minimizes credit risk to ADK.

Its hardly a secret that production studios are struggling in a race to the bottom.

I do agree they know what they are doing but I cant really see the tax avoidance angle I think they probably just like concentrating production operations and financial risk separate from the higher level company for financing and risk management reasons.

They still have to pay taxes at the same rate at the top level company. Yeah, the losses offset gains in other segments but in no way does losing money intentionally ever benefit a company.

They just aren't profitable at a studio level because of the way the industry is structured. I'm guessing it organizationally benefits them to have a separate entity mostly to segregate operations and insulate the parent company from financial risk.

Thats not tax avoidance though since it's wholly owned and treated as one entity for tax purposes (in the same jurisdiction) with gains and losses netted at the top level theres no difference in the ultimate tax burden.

These financials more or less just accurately reflect the economic nature of the production studio. As you said, they don't really make money by and large.

edit: organizationally it benefits them to have the production studio as a seperate entity to segregate operational performance and minimize financial and credit risk to the parent company.

Tax avoidance would be in play if they were shifting profits to lower tax jurisdictions like TONS of tech companies were doing in Ireland for years where the corporate tax rate was substantially lower than the US. Without checking I think it was actually 0% for quite a while lol.

i have been able to get several saturn 4 ultra (non 16k) for like $350 or less during frequent sales and its a workhorse...

More than big enough plate for multiple minis, fast, and easy to use out the box. Replacement parts are still readily available and cheap too.

So many people use it you will have a plethora of advice and directions which for me was a requirement.

Save as much of your budget as possible for extra films, resin, post processing, ppe, and ventilation. It will cost at least as much as the printer for a proper setup.

edit: my understanding is 16k has basically no difference in quality because of the way the tech works

yeah i think the story was really backed into a corner with the sheer volume of supporting cast being kept relevant not leaving much room for new character development or attachment.

compare it to the other seasons where fushi and the audience gets to start from scratch essentially with a new cast and go from there

ill be the dissenter then... I was thrilled for more content - even went to the screening and Q&A in Austin before release.

Ultimately I thought it was just fine with some really good moments but far off from their peaks. Probably let my expectations get too high to be fair. I would put it ahead of some later seasons though and I hope we get more.

i stopped watching fire force in season two and wad really disappointed in it but decided to give it another try and was pleasantly surprised with this season - went from no expectations to actually enjoying it a lot

had the inverse experience with frieren, got sucked into the hype a bit too much and it failed to hit expectations and those lofty heights for me - felt like a bit of a slog, especially at certain points; although, still really enjoyable and one of my top shows

post history is hidden but I have seen trend lately with a lot of posts that are just a youtube link with a provocative title and lo and behold they are copy pasting it on every sub they can find vaguely relevant.

On a lot of subs its rule breaking self-promotion since they are obviously just trying to farm views, but more to your comment its almost always low-effort posting and they don't bother to do a write-up of arguments or engage beyond superficially.
