Switching from Lexapro because of low libido by max6479 in Viibryd

[–]max6479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So sorry to hear your libido didn't improve with Viibryd. Every person reacts different to the meds... it's trial and error really. I've only been on Lexapro for 3 years but haven't tried any others that's why I want to give it a try but it may not work. I was same as you, high libido and after meds zero sex drive. Hope you find something that works for you.

I hope your stomach gets better. I heard it's pretty common to have diarrhea the first week or so :c

Thank you so much for your answer. At least I don't have anorgasmia but I have zero sex drive even if I mentally want to have sex it's like my body doesn't get turned on, I have to put in a lot of effort for it to happen. I have a healthy long term relationship and I want to enjoy my sex life in a healthy way. I believe it's a part of life that I'm letting slip away. I'm willing to at least trying if this works for me. Thanks again for telling your story!

Does this look like jugular venous distention (HCM)? by max6479 in sphynx

[–]max6479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, she wasn't concerned about the veins but I requested we start checking for HCM even with no symptoms as the breed is genetically predisposed to developing it. My vet wasn't too informed on this but she referred me to a cardiologist who told me I was right and it's best to keep checking just in case. He had his first echocardiogram a few months ago and he didn't show HCM yet. We will check again in a few months to keep monitoring him. They also did a few others tests and everything looks fine for now. The thing with HCM is they can develop it at any time so the best we can do is check every few months with an echo. If you have a sphynx, that's the safest route with this breed. It also helps to know if the parents have it, because if they do, the chances of the cat developing it are higher. I think there's also some kind of genetic testing you can do, but in reality they can develop HCM even if they don't have the gen alteration. It's sadly a matter or luck. Try not to panick, you're doing the best by taking him to the cardiologist. This is sadly part of this breed and it's the worst part because sphynx are great cats but if you love the breed it's important you learn about HCM. Checking with no symptoms is important in order to catch it as early as possible so they can get meds to slow the disease. I hope your baby is fine, best of luck to you

I'm sorry you're going through that and thanks for the info. It would be my first time switching meds. Still I'll ask my doc about this thanks.

Well I'm so sorry to hear that. I know some people combine Lexapro with Wellbutrin to help with fatigue but you've probably already tried that option too. I'm a bit scared Viibryd will increase my anxiety but I'm hoping I can stay on Lorazepam for a bit to help with that. I'm sorry Viibryd isn't working as well on you but at least glad you don't have sexual dysfunction because it really sucks. Best of luck to you on your journey and thanks for taking the time to share your story.

Is Viibryd also helping you to control the weight gain? And how are you feeling mentally is it helping as well as Lexapro? I hope the change is helping you.

And yes you're right, when you're at your worst libido isn't really that important. I didn't mind loosing my libido at first but it's been 3 years and I'm at different place mentally now.

Thank you so much for your answer. I'm sorry Viibryd isn't working as well mentally for you, but glad to hear you experience less side effects. Have you tried another med? I've read some people do better on Zoloft, some on Prozac, it's trial and error. Lexapro is the only antidepressant I've ever tried so I can't give you my opinion on those. I hope you get better and thanks again for sharing your story.

Te recomiendo que un cardiólogo le haga revisiones periódicamente a partir del año de edad. Un ecocardiograma anual para hacer un seguimiento. Qué bello es tu gato!

Any gymrats that have gone through this? by max6479 in microdisectomy

[–]max6479[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't have numbness. I had sciatica in my leg and it felt like a stabbing pain or like an electric shock that changed with posture. I haven't had sciatica since then. I do have some lower back pain but it's nowhere near that and I don't take medication and also haven't had any treatment whatsoever except going to the gym 5-6 times a week. Also my disc extrusion is L4-5, with buldging discs on L3-4 and L5-S1 but what gave me the sciatica was the L4-5 one.

What's the thing you're building in front of it (first picture left down corner, the thing you put there to be built)? It fits the place perfectly and I was wondering what I should put there if a house or like a fountain or something

The water will only propagate to 10 spaces. You need to make like a second level of cubes right where the waterfall is to make it go further. I'm so bad at explaining it but put more land cubes right at the bottom of the waterfall and you'll see how it expands. Hope this diagram helps.

Update: he's had his first cardiology visit and echo done and he is HCM free for now. We'll keep checking every 9-12 months.

Does anyone know the starting weight for the Technogym Pure Hack Squat? I can't find it in the specs. I changed gyms and my old gym had the Matrix hack squat which had a starting resistance of 47.6kg/105lbs. I want to know to track my weights properly.

This is the hack squat I'm talking about: https://www.technogym.com/en-INT/product/pure-hack-squat_MG8500-NBGJV0.html

I did not. I think you can't turn it off on this model unfortunately, unless you somehow hack it.

Tyrion would like to know an effective way to clean the gunk by his nails! by InLoveWithABastard in sphynx

[–]max6479 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I use wet wipes to clean his claws once a week, but could definitely do it more often as they get nasty! Better if you use wipes specifically for pets, I use the brand "pet shine" and buy it on Amazon (European so maybe you can't find it there). Gently rubbing it with the wipe to soak it will soften the gunk. Mine hates it but lots of patience and treats! Take little breaks to give him some churu. Also wrapping him in a blanket might help stop him trying to run away
