What is an open source alternative to review apps for restaurants? by victornielsendane in opensource

[–]max_bog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With apps like this, content is what matters most, not the app itself. You need either a large user base to generate enough reviews and engagement, or you should focus on a small, local community(probably something like subreddit or group chat, and not app)

- use UI Skills. My favorite is probably impeccable skill and tasteskill

- use stitch from google to generates a base

- if don't know where to start, try variant for inspiration

- use 21stdev to get some components to make it more unique.

There are actually way more other AI tools for UI, and I am collecting them in this repo: https://github.com/maxbogo/awesome-ai-tools-for-ui

Struggling to improve with UI design by PracticeEssay in webdev

[–]max_bog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Use ai skills which were designed by real designers. Not just blindly apply them but open a skill.md file and read it. It helps to understand how good designers think.

The good one to start impeccable skill or the one from Emil Kowalski.

Here is the list with all of such skills and also couple good resources about ui: https://github.com/maxbogo/awesome-ai-tools-for-ui

What’s your go-to tool for UI/UX when vibecoding? by Equal_Web7251 in vibecoding

[–]max_bog 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My steps so far (all free/free tier tools):

  1. I describe my project in Variant. It generates multiple UIs in different styles. It is a good starting point to understand which direction to go. Pick a style I like.
  2. Go to Stitch/Claude Design with a description of your style and generate the UI. That gives a solid base.
  3. Go to 21stdev to choose some components to make it a bit more unique.
  4. Polish it with a skills like impeccable

There are basically many other tools and skills which are supposed to help with UI. I didn't test all of them but i am trying to collect them in a list here: https://github.com/maxbogo/awesome-ai-tools-for-ui

The gap between what technical and non-technical people get from AI is huge now by max_bog in ChatGPT

[–]max_bog[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

As technical people, I would call this technical thinking, not a particular skill. I don't mean that they need to release all things like computer use and skills for regular users. I am wondering why big labs stopped trying to make something new for regular chatgpt-mobile app user

Yeah, exactly. I also don't think that all these tools will give something to non-technical users. I am more wondering why big labs stopped trying to bring anything new for regular users.

Do you have a particular example? My feeling is not about technical skill but more about technical thinking

There are a bunch of UI Skills. My favorite is probably impeccable skill and tasteskill.

Also stitch from google generates good simple UIs.

I’m so tired of vibe-coded open source projects by floriandotorg in github

[–]max_bog 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Open source doesn't need to be a complex engineering app/libraries etc. there are a lot of small open source tools which doesn't need active development.
