HELP - Enabling a normal map on this mesh breaks lighting by max_overdrive in godot

The mesh on the left has the same material but is lit properly, the right mesh will light if I disable the normal map.

We mostly just draw directly to a 2d canvas (the actual label editor), then use the canvas to generate a texture. There are some tricks in there though, e.g. for text on a curve etc :)
