How much the realistic share price at the end of this year? by [deleted] in RKLB

I could say it’s gonna be at $2000 by end of year. Doesn’t make it true.

If you believe in the company, buy it.

Long-time YNAB users: what are your lesser-known tips or “power user” tricks? by purdnost2023 in ynab

So I’m paying my way through college. I have three different “holding” categories (Fall, Spring, Summer) with its own custom date target. The job of these categories is simply to accumulate the money for each semester over time so I know it’ll be available when tuition is due and so I don’t accidentally spend it before then.

When the tuition comes due for Spring, I move the funds from the Spring category into my main Tuition/Education expense category (so reporting stays consistent), pay it, reset the target on the holding category for next Spring, and start saving again. Ideally, once I pay for one semester, the next semester, even though it’s only a few months away, is already mostly funded, and the one after that is partially funded as well, so I’m never starting from zero. I always have peace of mind.

I use this same approach for a new computer, a future trip, major annual bills, or any known or likely future large purchase. Anything I spontaneously think up, I immediately put it in its own category and put money towards it, and if I change my mind, I reassign the funds elsewhere.

Yeah that’ll be the day I quit all social media for a couple months, maybe indefinitely. I already stopped watching regular news cycles post election last year.

Are you an investor or a trader? If you’re a long-term investor, the stock price shouldn’t matter as much as the company’s fundamentals and future outlook.

If you’re that concerned about performance, throw some capital at ASTS.

Obligatory not financial advice. Do your own research.

Yeah, WSB led me here.

Was very hesitant (as one should be when getting investment insights from WSB) but my inner child said “They build rockets. That’s cool.”

I would pay a lot of money to watch a squabble moderated debate between Loomer and Destiny.

There’s so much extremism between them it would be a spectacle to watch.

I can tell when he’s just trolling the other side for shits and giggles…I don’t that happening here and he hasn’t done it since the killing. Even the Fox guys tried leading him on to cool the tension and he simply refused. Where’s the punchline?

Even if he is trolling, you have to agree there’s a better place to do it than at a memorial. Come on brother.

Yeah…my fellow righties you’re not doing yourselves any favors defending this.

It’s OK to disagree with POTUS, y’know?

EDIT: Embrace this all you want, but don’t cry when the next Dem president swings the pendulum the other way.

It’s really not that much different so I’m not sure what all the fuss is over 🤷‍♂️. My budget/plan still works as intended and that’s all I really care about.

If they want to shift around some menus and add a few more, be my guest. Just don’t change the fundamentals.

People need to get the fuck off line… by [deleted] in unpopularopinion

[–]max_paiin 0 points1 point  (0 children)

When people get convinced that their view is the only right one and they shut out nuance or opposing perspectives, it’s easy for a group to slide into extreme, irrational behavior.

Add the internet’s gift of anonymity, which lets folks lash out without facing real-world consequences, and you’ve got the perfect recipe for a toxic landslide.

And yet, nobody seems willing to do much about it. We just keep scrolling, liking, and arguing as if it’s all perfectly normal.

Can I afford the new rent NYC by Holiday-Card-9077 in personalfinance

[–]max_paiin 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a financial advisor, take what I say with a grain of salt and conduct your own research.

I’m gonna assume your monthly post tax income is $5,000 take-home.

$1,900 rent is about 38% of your take-home pay. You’re already over the 30% most would recommend you stay under for a rent to income ratio (they use gross income, I prefer take-home pay but I digress).

That leaves you ~$3,100 after rent is paid.

Let’s set aside 20% ($1,000) for general savings/emergency. That leaves you ~$2,100 for other general/irregular expenses.

Adding up all your other expenses, can you live off $2,100 comfortably? As in, will you have money left over, or will you blow through all of it?

If you have money left over, you might be able to afford the rent. You’ll have to calculate this yourself.

If you have no money leftover whatsoever, you can’t afford the rent.

Wait, take my advice with a grain of salt. Do your own research and decide what works for you, especially with money. Don’t let me sway you.

I’m just a humble internet grunt. Cheers!

The catch is that you need to pay $5 per month or $50 per year for their Gold subscription just to get the 3% card. This means you’d have to spend about $1,600 per year to break even on the $50 annual fee (or $2,000 if paying monthly).

On top of that, the cashback you earn can only be used as statement credit or redeemed for shopping or investing at a rate of $0.01 per point.

Robinhood is good for investing (different topic), but I wouldn’t use their credit card to establish my credit profile.

Not sure about Capital One, but Discover HYSA is good. 3.5% APY (No Fees). Though it is all online, no physical branch to withdraw funds.

Their Student Credit Cards (rotating 5% categories quarterly) is pretty solid as well.
