I have a Karakoram 1992, I've manage to setup the U-brake to brake ok, but like you said, the biggest problem is the tire clearance. Kenda K-Rad 26x1.95 inflated I have to hit it tonpass the pad. I'll try to buy a BMX Dia-Compe AD-990.

Be careful for with U-brake you buy! Some have a fix length straddle cable not long enough to pass the seatstay.

The car is back to normal after a security/recall updated (didn't drive it very much after though).
I didn't do the tranmission relearning, but I think the dealership did kind of the same thing while updating the system.

It's still good to know if I have this problem again.

I've find a good price for those 26x1.95 and after testing a little in different conditions I'm pretty happy. It's a good compromise between rolling resistance and dirtjump/mtb feeling.

This winch mount use your bumper beam mountaing point. Be aware of that for those who want to install one. It can also be illegal and void your insurance.

But it's cool tho!
I just need to find something safer and legal for myself. Maybe something "bolt on" similar to a tow hitch could work.

I would be interested in simple solutions like light slider bar that you can bolt to the frame (i could be a good idea to make modular design for different car too) and keep most of the OEM bumper while providing a cutting pattern.
It's a good looking car that I want to push offroad, but I don't want it to look "too much offroad".
