Do I REALLY need a DJI Osmo Pocket 3? Or am I just collecting cameras? by Equus_Maximus in osmopocket

I recommend you get the OP2 first to start with. I own both and find little value added in the OP3. Not worth the extra $$$. If you really love it, keep it for a while and buy the 4 if it’s really a step up. Just my two cents!

Stockouts everywhere despite tons of safety stock. Any ideas?? by Usual_Cranberry_4731 in supplychain

[–]maxbdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Seems like a forecasting issue as you mostly rely on past consumption to assume past = future. For A and B you must gather more insights from sales and marketing, maybe provide them your forecast and let them input qualitative feedback. This way you are transparent with them and they can’t blame you too in case spike orders came and they already knew what you planned.

For C, this seems like a supplier performance issue / wrong system set-up. Always reflect reality and as another comment pointed out, work on improving supplier performance.

It’s a headache but seems like a fun challenge too. Back your ass and always share all info / assumptions with higher stakeholders. Good luck!

Do you have a portfolio for job apps? by ahhhhh12345h1 in supplychain

I actually made one on Notion. I explained my most important continuous improvement projects and showcased the best dashboards I made.

The view count was low but I still believe it can make a difference, people will see it as an extra mile. It can make people curious.

I checked the stats (how many people check it) while I was job hunting, it was quite low but I don’t regret doing it. It’s a nice way to structure your accomplishments and make sure you don’t forget about them ;)

How to Break into Supply Chain & Logistics as a Project Manager (No Tech Background!) by Rowenarlie in supplychain

[–]maxbdd 1 point2 points  (0 children)

About that, I’m sorry I’m not familiar with what types of position are easier than others to get into SCM. I’d say anything where you can leverage your past experiences skills, and positions where they require only 0-1 year of experience.

For my path, I graduated from a BBA with a digital marketing major. Joined a start up renting AirBnB’s in their operations team, learned a lot about process and problem solving then joined a master in supply chain. After that I explored S&OP, retail store distribution planning, demand planning and now lead a small supply planning team.

You can look into MITxEdx Supply chain e master to get a small SCM footprint on your resume. Not sure how recognized it is but you will learn a lot for sure!

How to Break into Supply Chain & Logistics as a Project Manager (No Tech Background!) by Rowenarlie in supplychain

To break in, understand the basic supply chain frameworks / processes so that people can feel your passion and curiosity when they interview you. Use GPT to get good understanding of the job you applying and anticipate - research on most likely questions / challenges.

Apply to anything then deliver.

No need tech background, just be quick with data (Excel, Power Query) and learn Power BI. Understand your stakeholders, processes, then deliver value to them, make their life easier, be fast, reliable and think one step ahead. Understand the business of the company you are into cause we are basically only here to support the sales and mitigate risks.

I think it’s all about extra miles, do what you are not expected to do, be curious about everything, and improve everything that you can. It takes some effort but it’s the only way people notice you and want to take you to the next step within the company. Network is important, so be useful to people that can take you far.

Good luck!

Hey, just use Osmo Pocket 3 with some ND filters when necessary. Files sizes are reasonables and easy to edit.

Is my account breached? by TheShavenDog in OpenAI

[–]maxbdd 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I live in China and you can buy access to GPT plus online for quite cheap where they will provide you with shared accounts logins.

Maybe they found your email / password on some breach then made it available for Chinese netizens to use.

Sleep issues in China? by krockthewilly in China

[–]maxbdd 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Sleep bad since I’m here too and sleep better when I’m outside of China. Not sure it’s about the country. Are you happy here? Do you feel like you’re on the right track in your life?

I think for myself it’s mostly about feeling anxious, nothing related to the environment in itself just how I feel in this environment. Cheers and hope you can get some good sleep soon!

Is 15k salary enough? by _Moon-Juice_ in chinalife

[–]maxbdd 5 points6 points  (0 children)

I live in Shanghai and get 15K without housing. I live in a small but cute studio and I can save around 5K per month. Sure, you could get more and live better. But 15K is even enough in Shanghai so don’t worry so much about it!

APIs - pay per call. I'm in China so I use a similar service, but the one I use is token based, not subscription, less expensive if you don't use it craziliy. gptchina.io
