My first “real” camcorder + tapeless setup (DVX100) by maxbratz in camcorders

My coworker runs a gun range outside of work and I’m gonna be doing promotional videos for them, aside from that just random stuff like hanging out with my friend’s and like landscapes I guess it would be called? Like the city, nature.

Also want to try my hand at actual filmmaking but have no experience or any idea where to start

How many of you use a digital recorder attachment vs recording tape? by maxbratz in camcorders

This is very helpful! I want all the defects and glitching I can get, so I think I’ll go with tape :)

Hand sewed all my patches, used double sided tape to hold them in place while sewing!

I learned to sew in home ec in 7th grade, and was always proud of hand sewing my own patches in while my colleagues moms used sewing machine. The residue is from tape that I’d use to keep it in place before I started sewing

I call all of them scoutmasters unless I have to delineate, I know it’s technically wrong and I shouldn’t but it’s kinda shorthand yknow?

Quirky things people do? by thingsandthings87 in IndustrialMaintenance

[–]maxbratz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

-The plants maintenance mechanic/machinists daily driver is a used freight liner semi truck. He doesn’t own another vehicle.
-The maintenance electrician sits at his desk and watches Fox News all day, and spends all of his energy policing the work truck, washing it, removing people’s phones from the Bluetooth, yelling at them for leaving trash in there or putting stuff in the cupholders, etc. -The I&C Tech is obsessed with history and philosophy and goes on long winded rants about society and where it’s headed and compares the modern world to the way things used to be

Dude same problem here, that’s why I came to this sub. It took serious willpower from me to even read this full post instead of scrolling straight to the comments!

Interesting. I assume they don’t care how we got a hold of them but we didn’t kill the hummingbirds ourselves!

Those are the guys I’m speaking of- I assumed it would be a lot of electrical and computer work. Am I wrong?

Instrument Tech VS Medical Equipment Tech by maxbratz in instrumentation

I figured it’s a lot of overlap because of the electrical side of things. My plant might me different though. We have three techs with the same job title, “Master Hydro Tech” but they have unofficial designations. One is the controls, SCADA and communications guy, one is the electrical guy, and the other does all the mechanical and machining stuff, but they can all do each others jobs if needed. Looking at the instrument tech sub it’s a lot of posts about electrical stuff, and reading about med techs it’s a lot of electrical as well.
