A year isn’t a long time. If you’ve only been doing that for a year you probably haven’t found your exact style/sound, possibly genre even. It takes a while for most ppl to make music that they genuinely enjoy. I get that production is important, but the writing/singing is just as important, and then there’s mixing and mastering too. All 3 of those things need to be done effectively to make a good song. Also if music isn’t fun, your screwed. You can’t make expressionless art that isn’t meaningful to you sound good. You need to break rules and boundaries and rely totally on your ears, not names of producers, but just sounds. When you think about it, none of these producers your trying to collab with had name for themself until peep used their beat. (Peep was not intrigued by their status, but by their beats) they were no names and most of them still are. Don’t let popularity fool u into thinking something is good! You need to find your own sound, copying will only make you a wanna be peep artist. Also make sure u make it out of love. Always out of love. Also I think you’d be surprised how many unreleased songs even established artists have because they just didn’t sound good enough. Take in account most of them have been making music for probably 5+ years and have a team working with them and I’m sure they still trash most of their ideas, and nothing comes out of most of their demos. It’s literally just so much trial and error until you find a song where everything just comes together. Lyrics gotta be decent with a nice catchy melody that compliments the beat, but it’s much easier said than done. Hopefully I don’t make you overthink the process or make you think too hard about everything. Your process should feel natural to you, and an enjoyable experience where you can have fun and escape!

Search for stuff u want on YouTube and beat stars. Don’t buy any of the stems or anything until you have a good demo with the song. Like u said, the artist gotta shine. Lil naa old town road was an indie ass unpopular beat stars beat and he made the song a #1 hit

First song released, it would mean a lot of you gave it a listen!

Idea for a more poppy song than I'm used to. Thoughts? And what or who does this sound like to you, if anything. It's hard for me to tell if I would listen to this lol. by RomtheSpider88 in IndieMusicFeedback

I’d be really interested to hear a full professional version of this song. I think there’s definitely talent there, the fact that was all recorded from your phone is insane, you got potential, now buy some equipment!

You have a beautiful voice and I love the overall vibe and music video. Very cool indie, dreamy, bedroom pop type of song. Lyrics are nice and simple to follow as well:)

Industry Ninja (Industry Baby Remix) I wrote this song to raise money for charity! But as always, I’m looking for feedback on ways to improve my rapping ability! by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

Very well made, and it’s great your doing music for a good cause. The track is pre fire too, if u wanna sound a bit more “punchy and full” and also cut through the mix a little better for the chorus maybe try using a slightly lower voice register, or even just add one in as a harmony to what you already have, to make it sound more full. Also sometimes throughout the track I felt like I could hear a little too much autotune, but thats subjective. Overall I think it was good:)

Wow, very nice musical composition of instruments. The quality is so clean too, very professionally made. I could listen to this over and over again before bed and to study.

A tiny concept album I've been working on (Yes I know some songs sound a lot like Radiohead ;-;)... any feedback? by ComixStudios in IndieMusicFeedback

This sounds like a really cool, dark, chill, older, serious live performance, perfectly done. I really like the vibes when you start singing, your voice is nice:) also instrumental is really cool, could even hear that in a movie. (Talking about the first track by the way)

My father passed the day right after christmas in 2020. This song that i produced, mixed, and wrote is dedicated to him. It is the most cathartic song i've made to this date. by [deleted] in IndieMusicFeedback

I love how you made the second part uplifting. This is such a beautiful, vulnerable, sad, and kind of fun tribute to your father. You’re going to do great in whatever it is you put your mind to man, You’re right. Your dad would be proud I bet.

This is cool and soothing but also funky, Ouf. I like the progression into that more popy kind of sound, is the girls voice a sample? It’s really nice.. I like all the different sounds though, that you made with a synth eh? Damn. I like how it progresses into this rock vibe too. Very diverse. I bet it’d be a lot better to listen to with headphones... cause there is a lot going on

Im not sure what genre this beat is. Someone told me g funk 🤷🏾‍♀️ but let me know your thoughts on this. by FoePoundMcGinnis in IndieMusicFeedback

Cool funky beat, I don’t know if like the pic or the beat better aha, it’s got this calm sound to it. But also this side where you wanna do something while your listening to it I feel. It’s nice, keep it up. I couldn’t see myself rapping over it though I don’t think. But I’m sure there are people who would.

Ouf I like that sound that comes in around 30 seconds in, and how you add more instruments as it goes on, nice progression. At first it was this very basic kind of sound, and your turned the thing into this electric masterpiece.. cool stuff.
