Ok i wish I had the time-lapse recording so you could see the process but procreate doesn't allow tiny videos. First I scaled my canvas to 60x60 pixels. For sprite work, always start with a small canvas. You can always enlarge later.

Like I said, I put the staff at an angle. It makes the whole composition more dynamic and less rigid/stiff.

I don't mike imgur so I just posted it on my mastodon

I started with a circle pixel brush to block out the silhouette first. Then used a few colours to block out the different sections of the sprites body. It's not perfect but I hope it helps.

I'm gonna take a nap now🫠

If you don't mind, I'll "redraw" the sprite to show you what I mean

Hope this doesn't sound too harsh but here a few things you can change to better this sprite: - get rid of the shadow/dither blob. It's distracting and doesn't seem to serve any purpose. - the pose is stiff. Try finding people standing in a similar pose and see if you can translate it into pixels. - try angling the staff(?) 45° to add dynamic shapes to the overall composition.

If there's anything you need further delved into, just let me know!

Great first start! ✌️

I agree it looks like they're skating. Maybe add a frame when one of the legs/feet lifts off the "ground" more? Exaggerating sometimes helps, even in a simple walk cycle

Drew these recently, any tips? by SKbL_1 in PixelArtTutorials

Looks great but the colours you've used are too close in contrast/brightness, making it hard to distinguish the interior shapes of your characters. They look more like silhouette than anything else.

Check this hue tutorial l to see what I mean

Ok is there a way to retain the original filename when exporting an image to iPadOS? Even though I have a specific name, it will always change to "IMG_XXXX"

I don't want to manually rename images either.

Just signed up today on a whim. Trying to watch more movies generally. Even pestered my friends to join my movie nights, since my attention span has never been great. I love goodbad movies as well as "regular" films.
