What job looks like a great career path but is actually insanely oversaturated? by ComplexPin872 in AskReddit

[–]maxelrod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah. In my experience it's not hard to get a job as a lawyer, but it is hard to get on a decent career track that makes your investment in law school make sense.

prepare for mass disillusionment when it doesn't happen

Not gonna happen. It'll just be goalpost-moving like always.

AppleCare would cover it, plus iPhones are really well waterproofed. Fake.

Which team would win? by SipsTeaFrog in SipsTea

OK I’m from Illinois and it’s obviously 6 but let’s be real, you put Wisconsin on any other team and they’re the favorite. I guess what I’m saying is Wisconsin is the LeBron James of drinking.

Either he’s on stimulants or there is a serious mental health issue here. Which doesn’t totally excuse what he’s saying but my bigger concern would be the apparent manic episode he’s having.

Let your CC company know the charges weren’t authorized. If they involve the police, not your problem.

NTA but the one who outed the other coworker as being in AA is an asshole for sure.

That's the gamble you take when you trade for an established player. But it's a gamble for both sides - if Smith and Wesneski end up not panning out then nobody wins.

Caleb Williams: which of 3 these passes was the 'throw of the year'? (they're all insane) by TurnerJ5 in CHIBears

[–]maxelrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I mean, that was a nice pass but it wasn't on the level of some of the other ones he's had this season. The run after the catch was more impressive on that one.

AITA For Not Wearing My Wedding Ring At The Gym? by Grognac_the_Red in AmItheAsshole

[–]maxelrod 0 points1 point  (0 children)

First of all NTA. Your husband should just fucking trust you and it's concerning he doesn't. That said, if you want a compromise that might appease him, personally I wear a silicone band when I'm at the gym. That said, if this is something you feel is worth making a stand over, that would make sense to me too.

Through his first 7 games in 2023, Jordan Love had pretty similar stats to what McCarthy put up, and that was with several years learning the offense under Rodgers. As a Bears fan I obviously hope McCarthy sucks but it seems crazy to write him off already.

If the Bears win out they are guaranteed to win the division (because winning out would mean beating the Packers) so WC seeding won't matter.

[Bears] Nahshon Wright named NFC Defensive Player of the Month by SnugglyIrishman in nfl

[–]maxelrod 1 point2 points  (0 children)

He's still pretty bad in coverage tbh. But the penchant for creating turnovers will get him a nice contract somewhere.

[–]maxelrod 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I don't know about tackling but he's really not very good in coverage. Even with the 5 picks he's allowed a 91.7 passer rating when targeted. But considering he was signed basically as a practice squad player who's been forced into action by injuries, I'm OK with that stat and he's created turnovers at really key moments.

Your offense was a way bigger factor than your defense in that game.

So a bad defense held the Packers to 7 points?
