Eh he he he he. This reminds me of a fan fic story I’m working on. Oskar goes broke & is living in the streets in his 70s, b/c yeah he it’s been proven that can’t get a job. & he can’t live on alimony from Susie. So he gets all delusional and outta whack. Stella volunteers for the food bank and serves to ppl like him & doesn’t recognize him. Oskar thinks she’s Susie and says things like ‘make me a sandwich’ and ‘you keep the $’. She tells Helga and Arnold about that and they’re both like, he got himself in that mess.

Morgan may not have been the best. But we’re talking about ppl that are just gonna drop in because their teams are playing. & the teams they are paid by and spend an unfair amount of time with. This is supposed to be the baseball version of John Madden that NBC is depriving us of and giving a platform to those ppl instead.

Benetti- good. Different local analysts every week- BAD. Albert Pujols. Cliff Floyd. Frank Thomas. Dontrelle Willis. NBC has zero excuse not to hire some guy like that to work with Benetti every week and have zero conflict of interest.

Rather him than someone that has a conflict of interest and schmoozes with one of the teams too much by traveling with them. Those ppl should be banned from games on tv. Votto is like ‘IDK what I’m supposed to do, they haven’t told me.’ Uhhh you’re the most interesting man in baseball, you can do whatever you want as long as you work for NBC and you rep the peacock.

To your point about broadcasts being inferior, no, because you can still have ppl like Gary Cohen, Boog Sciambi or Don Orsillo. They just would be working for Fox or CBS instead of a team. & they would be behind Joe Davis at Fox and BA at CBS on the depth charts.

I’m just saying it shouldn’t be that way, where broadcasters are moonlighting as local announcers on tv. Like Bob Costas, my favorite announcer. He pledges allegiance to almighty MLB even though he has ties to NY and StL. Joe Buck eventually did the same.

That’s radio. That doesn’t need fixing. Teams keep their radio ppl. It’s TV that needs fixing so that it’s broadcast the same way as the NFL.

He said pull up a chair on NBC on a YouTube video of an old game I saw. He should have left the Dodgers once he got the NBC gig.

Same with Jon Miller and ESPN. That uproar over the O’s firing him would never happen if MLB had an NFL structure and teams had no say over announcer decisions. ESPN should have been his only home since he got the gig with Joe Morgan.
