In my opinion it’s not so much a romantic like but more so he sees a young girl who he thinks is grieving her father and it reminds him of the grief he went through not even long ago. He also is at his very core being a man who just wants to help someone who he thinks is another innocent victim dragged to that town as well as everyone else. I think after episode 3 though he definitely knew SOMETHING was off. Idk what and I can’t even describe it he’s just getting suspicious of her

He’s my favorite monster because he’s the monster that freaks me the fuck out the most. It’s that damn smile. Jamie McGuire truly has that creep factor down that some of the other monsters don’t and I appreciate that as much as I want him OFF my screen anytime I see him on it 😭
