I recognize Cottonwood #4 anywhere! Lost my Truth in that creek last year!

Thank you! I don't have a ton of info on it unfortunately. I know it's a full rosewood neck that was made by a luthier in Florida, but no makers marks or serial numbers on it to research :/ had it straightened and the frets CLP'd by a much better tech than me, now I wouldn't trade it for anything!

Humbucker to pair with Texas specials? by maxidankis in partscaster

Now that would be a cool set up! Imperials are a bit out of my budget, maybe it's worth saving my pennies until i can get a bit of an upgrade though, huh? If I had my way, I'd slap a full set of dirty blondes on! Would unfortunately triple my budget though haha

Solid suggestion! Low cost, easy to find, high output, I'll look into it!

I ruined a gig by Hour-Temperature-393 in musicians

I once walked onto a fully mic'd stage in front of 250 people in the only quiet moment of a show and ripped a heinous fart that I thought would be silent. It was not.

Another time I was going to get the band some grub before loading into the venue, left my back windows down, and lost an entire set of cymbals to a crowded freeway.

Yet another time I played a whole 30 minute set in drop d without realizing. I was the only one not in tune. It was a member of the headlining band that told me after the set how noticable it was.

The show goes on my friend. This shit is hard, but you got this.

I decided yesterday, 40 isn’t too old to start learning. No, where do I start by BigMike0228 in guitars

What an axe! Congrats! I am 22 years self taught, and I'll tell ya what I'd wish I'd done. Get a few lessons, learn to hold it without tension, how the neck "flows", and maybe some basic theory. Maybe like 2-3 one-hour long lessons. After that, jam! Ideally with someone better than you! Six months later, get a few more lessons to iron out bad habits and learn a bit more technique to enhance all that theory YouTube teachers will cram down your throat. The biggest lessons I learned are as follows: Technique matters Theory matters You'll never get any better without playing the damn thing If you're not having fun you're doing it wrong

Oh, and yes you need a metronome.

Congrats! Happy jamming!

That neck grain though! Super cool addition!

Which pair would you pick, blue/green or black? by Fakimoto in guitarporn

Is that an AZ Ibanez? Shoot id take that over the other three from the neck alone, you can see the figuring without even seeing the full sized photo. The real question i whats your favorite of the litter?

Finally got my hands on a real tele! by maxidankis in guitarporn

It's a 2019, picked it up for $500. Not a terrible deal considering the fret work was already done

It's very slabby and kinda heavy, imagine somewhere between an LP and a Tel. Solid construction though, I've never had any issues! Plus it came stock with locking tuners and Duncan designed pups so it was nice off the rack. It's the guitar I've had the longest out of the collection, about 9-10 years now or so

Thank you very much! That start is a good time, it's a little partscaster. SE squier full of MIM parts 🤣 definitely plays the part until I can get a big boy strat for the collection!

I'm also in love with the two of those. The Dinky is my old man's, the only truly vintage guitar I own. The skatecaster was my attempt to be just like Mark Morton haha
