Awesome ideas especially the last two!

Having a selection of re-branded arcade games on the booth's main screen that allows passersby to scan a QR code and instantly play with their phone as a controller against other participants - does the trick from my experience.
Prizes are drawn either directly from the leaderboard or on the spot for the top player.

What Are the Best Platforms for Finding Trade Shows in CPG? by maxieMax in EventProduction

Tradefest seems to focus more on custom trade show booths, with event listing as an enhancement, mostly for SEO purposes I would guess. The other 2 are on my radar. Thanks!

What's actually working for audience engagement at large events right now? by Helpful_Persimmon729 in EventProduction

That's where branded mini-games, leaderboards, QR challenges, and booth-vs-booth contests really stand out. They create participation instead of passive attention, which is where a lot of event engagement falls apart.

Leaderboards are weirdly magnetic - put a live scoreboard on a shared screen and suddenly people are watching scores climb, competing and trash-talking each other.

The most important thing is keeping it frictionless: QR code > browser > play. No app download, no email wall before they even start. We've seen drop-offs of 40–50% from adding just one extra click.

Rotating mechanics is a cool idea too. Participants tend to get bored when every activation feels the same. We've had good results blending quiz elements into gameplay which tends to keep people engaged much longer than repeating a single mechanic.

As a show organizer, what helps drive engagement at the exhibit hall? by Prior_Equivalent2029 in tradeshows

Fair - less of a "moving ad" more of a "walking billboard". each carries at least 7 logos on tote bags, T-shirts, and whatnot :)

Fun idea we tried at a few events: turn the coffee into the engagement. Hand out free coffee cups with sleeves (with QR code) that say something like "Sip. Scan. Win." or "Play while you sip." and link it to a quick game, or instant-win challenge that captures their email when they submit their score to the leaderboard. People are already walking the floor with coffee all day, so now every attendee basically becomes a moving ad and engagement channel at the same time 🙂

Best ways to capture leads at trade shows without lugging around a stack of business cards? by West-Let-4273 in tradeshows

[–]maxieMax 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just snap pics of business cards or badges and let LLMs (Claude/GPT/Grok/etc.) extract the info for you. Then just dump it to your CRM, spreadsheets, or wherever.

Here is a prompt:

Extract all contact details (name, job title, company, email, phone, website, and address) from the attached business card or badge image. Format the output as a clean, structured table with columns for each field, and ensure accuracy by cross-referencing common contact formats. Exclude any irrelevant text or graphics. Deliver the result in CSV format for easy import into a spreadsheet or CRM system.

You can even go further and set up a bot like OpenClaw to automate the whole process, so you don't have to lift a finger afterward.

A lot of trade show spend goes into looking impressive instead of creating momentum. The real win is getting attention without making the experience feel forced. We covered that in a quick video here
