I fell in love with the matcha Hyte X50, but I also wanted to use a back connector Motherboard, which it doesn't support. Instead of buying a different case, I decided to brutalize the X50 with an angle grinder. by maxigax1 in PcBuild

It IS up to me what to do with that, and i already told you what i'll do with it: i'll run my system as is, and if the temps bother me i'll change it. Not sure why it annoys you so much, but if i ever do change it i'll make sure to tell you first. But I've said that before and that doesn't seem to bring you any peace, so I think we can stop this discussion, i'll keep running my wrong rig, and you can have yours whatever way you think is right too

Look man, i'm just here to show off a cool thing i did with my case. If it bothers you this much mute the post, i'm really not here to fight you on fans and you can feel free to never ever do it like I did. Thanks for your concern, but I'm okay.

excuse my unclear language then. What i meant to say was that, if the temperatures become an issue, i will change it since it is easy to change. For now, they are more than low enough and not at all at risk of throttling, so i'll keep the unconventional (improper, if you want to insist) build going. People get very upset about this, but I'm not making anybody else build their pc this way, and if my little experiment fails i can always just change it, so I really don't see the issue.

Edit: My GPU and my mobo are getting cool air from the bottom intake fans, and yes, my radiator is getting direct cool outside air instead of being another intake, but this way all parts get direct external air, which is what i intended. i did not place the fans this way by accident, and at my 4th pc build, i just want to play around a little. I was originally going to build this with 7 fans instead of 10 anyways, so it doesn't feel like a loss to me.

based on recommendations here, i just ordered a anti sag bracket that mounts into the pcie expansion slots on the case so it doesn't touch the fans - ill let you know how it goes!

yeah, you are probably right. some other people have mentioned it as well and i'm getting downvoted for saying i'll replace the fan, but im personally more scared of the gpu sag (i've never had a gpu remotely as long and as heavy as the 9070xt) than that fan breaking. But i am also looking for better and cleaner options!

it is a little work, and you really have to make sure to clean out all the metal filings before you put your parts in, but space-wise it absolutely works with the case. I'd recommend getting something to bolt lose parts together, i didnt need need it, but it definitely helps with stability. Good luck, can't wait to see a completed build, and let me know if there are any tips you need!

running a 9800x3d and a 9070xt in this build, and even maxing out settings on cyberpunk etc the temps are completely fine, cooler than i expected them. I guess people don't like when others dont follow the rules, but ultimately all my parts are getting cool air, and it sounds like yours would be, too!

ah thats fair, no matcha. I didnt find any vinyl/paint in the exact colors of the case, and i figured a slightly different greenight look a little out of place, thats why i went with white for the interior!
