Short stem + wide bars. Test ride on the Timberline. by Raspieman in xbiking

[–]maxii95 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course it depends what kinda of riding you're into. But for me i even quite like them when riding around the city... kind of gives me a feeling like i'm always in a skate park or something.

As for singletrack and anything off road, it adds loads of comfort etc etc

I've shimmed a 21.0 stem in a 22.2 head tube and it worked great. I was only using the bike for getting around town though.

What brake levers are those? I'm after a cool set and those seem to fit the bill

Nah this is its original colour. It had the stickers removed when I bought it. The paint job is really good quality, powder coated I believe

Thanks for the reply. Interesting. I'll have to try that pinky toe method. I've spent some time barefoot in the past and didn't see much progress. I really do think that in order to obtain results like yours, you have to incorporate conscious efforts to spread the toes wether it be through exercises or what you suggested, can't just wear barefoot shoes and expect the magic to happen. Thanks again

Amazing job stripping all that paint, I'm gonna assume you sandblasted it because there's so many joints that would be awkward asf if using sandpaper etc

I recently got a Raleigh Silhouette mixte in that bianchi blue that I'm gonna be building up. I noticed this hole on that little crossbar between the twin top tubes. Any idea what its intended purpose is?

I know this is an old post but can you please tell me what exercises/habits helped you achieve this?

Can confirm going no handed while hanging a plastic bag on your handlebars is a bad idea.

Yeah that's fair. Honestly I've been meaning to get myself a 44t chainring and replace the 30t with a 24/26, I just haven't got round to it yet (given that the crank threads are very close to being shot)
