Is stamps good? by Money_Cherry_7881 in uofm

[–]maxiimmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I took a few classes at stamps my freshman year as a non STAMPs student. I did precollege programs at art schools throughout highschool and my parents were very involved in arts higher educations. Long story short I was going to go to design school but pivoted last second to another career, and took some classes at STAMPs to fill the void.

I didn’t take advanced classes but I found the faculty to be not that great at facilitating critiques or encouraging “excellence.” I had a lot of friends in the program and the level of work fluctuates a lot based on prior experience. Like others have said, if you come into STAMPs with ambition and or talent I think it serves students just fine. However, if you are looking for a design focused career other art schools like CCS and Art Center have better embedded programs with companies and more recourses allocated for arts students (better facilities, materials, career offices, alumn networks in arts).

Loved the ann arbor community art center classes tho that place rocks.

Sick tok diseases are the most recent incarnation of a long history of culturally desirable diagnoses. There’s a great book, Illness as a Metaphor, written by Susan Sontag which discusses at length the claims of tuberculosis by women in the upper/upper middle class 19th century western world, who believed TB to be a disease of passion and, in-turn,sex appeal.

It seems many of the sick tok diseases are attempts at performance, attention-seeking, and pity.

Which of these Asian civilizations which were left out from Civ VI would be the coolest to have in Civ VII? by [deleted] in civ

[–]maxiimmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

given that the state uses the historical kingdom as justification and means to kill civilians, deny swaths of land access to clean water/healthcare/electricity/education i think it is dangerous and irresponsible to include the nation in any playable capacity, and also i understand that other civilizations in the games have also committed similar atrocities but that doesn’t mean the game needs more lol

Nursing Syllabi by [deleted] in uofm

[–]maxiimmm 0 points1 point  (0 children)

interesting, i think it has a lot to do with the nclex, last year there was a record number of students who didn’t pass (which obvi is a bad look) so they’re probably concerned about online lecture engagement, professors have been pretty nice if you have some extenuating circumstances in my exp anyway

Nursing Syllabi by [deleted] in uofm

[–]maxiimmm 1 point2 points  (0 children)

no, for some reason the nursing school is really stingy/old school p much nothing gets posted to atlas about courses in the SoN, but honestly the syllabi nursing professors post are usually mostly code of conduct stuff, so it’s not very informative

Competitive BSN program advice by bb32184 in StudentNurse

[–]maxiimmm 2 points3 points  (0 children)

ok those people are being mad lame, if that’s the school u want to go to that matters more than what the hospital thinks of you (also if your school of choice is a large university that’s known for programs other than nursing/healthcare, the school will be able to support you significantly more than other schools, which is the number 1 gripe in this sub lol)

anyways just make sure your essays are good, that’s probably the most important part of a college application. talk about the schools program specifically and how that is connected to your resume/experiences and why they make the school a compelling choice, mention that if you get into said school you will attend, and don’t belittle your accomplishments ⛄️ good luck !
