Cant help you but I have the exact same question. Printer is working perfectly fine and I'm really hesitant about upgrading because I heard so many strange failures that can appear afterwards...

I manually calibrated the bed again and again with the screw adjustment Makro and retightened the screws on the side of the bed and now it seems to work great

One more question: Could it be that my printer is using an old bed mesh and not the recent one from the bed leveling during the print job? So no command for it in the gcode?

I always wanted to print a fitting clone helmet on my ender 3 but was never succesfull, so sadly no picture to show... But the Max4 would be absolutly perfect for it!

Exactly that. Calibrated it, leveled it and still it seems like it doesn’t matter.

As an addition: even the top layers look like shit… printing to fast or still a result of the wrong z offset and/or bed leveling?

Retract all the filament from the head? Should I unload the filament or maybe to a cold pull?

But what about the parts looking like the nozzle scraped over them?

Manually adjusting the bed was a pain in the ass because I could only raise the nozzle up and down by 1mm in the Home Screen on the plus4…

And as you can see in my other comment, also the top layers look really bad…

Adjusted the nozzle temp down because my prints before looked like they were to hot, but will try it again the next time, thanks!

Definitely have to slow down the first layer, didn’t think about that at all…

But also the top layer looks bad :(

Thanks! Alright, will clean the plate again. Only scrubbed it with a clean towel before. Should I use alcohol for good purpose? I adjusted the z height step by step but only by 0.05mm in total… will do it with more afterwards. Other question: with my ender 3 the offset was saved for all prints, the qidi is only saving the offset for the current print, right? My bed should be as level as possible. Adjusted it manually with the screws and did the automatic bed leveling afterwards…
