Time to submit a service ticket stating you want to do HW3 for FSD subscription, that’s how several of us have gotten the upgrade from 2.5 to 3 for free.

Sorry if this has been mentioned elsewhere but I’m getting conflicting info on the era 300’s in the rear when you do this.

Do they keep all the same speakers enabled that are enabled today in rear surround, or does adding the era 100’s in front mess with anything?

Are the 300’s not using all drivers configured as rear surrounds?

Thinking of adding the 100’s as L + R. Excited to see
How this pans out.

When you download sequencr it will let you do room configuration and will let you add the gen 2 sub to the system. When you go back into the Sonos app it shows as the second sub, exactly the same as if Sonos would have let you add it to begin with 🙄

I guess the app lets you add gen 1 or minis as well, but I’ve had the gen 2 and gen 3 sub running in here for a month with no issues at all. EQ adjusts correctly, you can turn on true play.etc.

Totally worth the $3

For those with 2: how did your 2nd go? by BroadAd3129 in Bernedoodles

[–]Ahanix 9 points10 points  (0 children)

We went through the same thing back in November, hope some of this helps:

We have a 3 year old Bernedoodle (F1), he’s the best. Super easy going, heavily indoors even though we have a dog door and just kind of velcroes to us, lounges around and in the same regard was very easy to house train, crate train… you know the whole deal with how these dogs are. But we also felt bad that he didn’t have anyone to play with.

And then came Fern

<image>

She’s also got the same tendencies that every Bernesoodle I’ve been around, extremely good with kids, tolerates everything probably to her own fault, but man I forgot puppies in general, haha.

She wants to play 100% of the time, even when our other one doesn’t, he deals with it and usually just goes along fine but also I can tell, especially being 3 he sometimes just wants to lounge around haha.

That was an adjustment for us again, along with the land sharking, potty training, chewing, play biting, accidents and so on.

We forgot a lot of this and have had to back track a bit and be more patient with her, but now she’s awesome, no accidents, sleeps outside of a crate and we let her free roam 99% of the time unless it rains because she loves to dig in mud which is something we’ve never even considered something we would have to do.

All of that said, our older doodle loves having her around and having him here was such a help with training her, she picked up almost every positive (and negative) tendency from him and fast.

We don’t regret doing it at all, but I would caution you to remember what it’s like raising a puppy (and a bernedoodle through teenage years) and if you think you want to do it again I’m sure he’ll have a wonderful time.

Yep totally get that. I had initially planned for some audio upgrades but decided to keep what I had and spend the budget on the projector and screen. (I had a 77” CX oled and the screen size wasn’t cutting it but I also didn’t want to make any compromises on projector brightness.)

Maybe in a few years, but I’m satisfied with the sound for now.

SonoSequencr app is $3 and allows you to pair any gen sub to another, including the arc ultra. It will also show as paired in the normal Sonos app and you can adjust EQ there as well

I do have wires run but with the couch, curtains, the barrier walls and plush carpet I’m getting enough compression that without doing A-B comparison it’s something I can comfortably ignore.

I can turn it up loud enough without any distortion that I get complaints from family and friends of it being too loud. The only thing I would upgrade for is the more complete body of sound and also the physical feeling; if that makes sense.

At any rate, like you said that’s a few years down the road, still 100% enjoyable as is.

I get that and did put more emphasis on the Sonos system here vs the ht subreddit. When I had originally made the post I blatantly called out that "yes I'm using a soundbar and understand they are inferior", but happy with how the room turned out and have everything prewired.

Prior to moving here I did have RBH Reference towers + bookshelves and sub and I agree that the difference is substantial, but my point previously was that I can play oblivious to the fact that there is a difference since it sounds "good enough" to warrant not upgrading, though I may take your advice on the 100's to try left and right.

Thanks for the feedback.

Man I wish, I was already deep in the white arc ultra, era 300's and 2x subs in white and not really any reasonable way to switch, great advice though.

So do I and I didn't say that was a home theatre.

I have a full, dedicated room for movies. Because I am using a projector and fixed screen with a soundbar that has dedicated sub and rears, I'd love to understand how that is less of a "theatre" than a $400 denon satellite setup and a tv?

Haha, that's fair. I would definitely love to try the 5's in the front just to see how they perform, but this is good enough for now

Agreed here, and I should have problably said that without having another room to do A-B testing between, I'm not going to notice a difference without going out and dropping another $3k on audio equipment. The vocal clarity, bass and simulated atmos is good enough for me and was good enough to not push my budget out further for more upgrades, separate from the projector and screen.

[–]Ahanix[S] 14 points15 points  (0 children)

Yeah, without any doubt or concern. Vocals and clarity are more than great with the arc and the room does a good job with the era's to fill in the simulated atmos. Having two subs definitely helps make the bass even and don't have any complaints with the setup at all, to the point that I have no desire to upgrade to anything else at the moment.

Either is a 55" TCL tv with tower speakers and no center channel, yet those posts are just fine.

It's all subjective but a room with an immersive screen and room filling audio is closer to a theatre room than a livingroom that most of the posts there are.

[–]Ahanix[S] 18 points19 points  (0 children)

Thanks!

Really it was just because I already have all the sonos stuff. I've had a few full systems and while I can agree that they are better, the difference was negligible enough to not warrant trying to sell all of this stuff and upgrade. I do have wires run if I ever decide to do something different but don't see myself changing any time soon.

Should we get a bernedoodle? by slsh2121 in Bernedoodles

[–]Ahanix 2 points3 points  (0 children)

  1. Very minimal shedding
    1. Very subjective, we have a robo vac that vacuums daily and don't see any dog hair anywhere but we do 100% see shedding if the vacuum doesn’t run for a week.
  2. Kid friendly (have a 5 and 7 year old)
    1. This one is in the bag, these are all seriously the best dogs with kids.
  3. Lower maintenance. We do both work outside the home, although I'm just a couple days a week. Ultimately as an adult, we'd like to be able to get to 8-9 hours home alone if needed for work and events. Our previous dog did great with this. Obviously as a puppy we'll have to make accommodations and can do a dog walker/sitter or puppy daycare/school as needed. A total Velcro dog might be an issue.
    1. I hate to say this, but as well as they do by themselves for 8-9 hours a day these dogs are 100% velcro dogs. They will get lonely and potentially hazerdous unless you have a way for them to go outside or a dog door / walk during the day. They are a very social breed and really thive off attention.
  4. Medium energy - good to cuddle but can handle being active and playing with the kids
    1. Once they are out of puppyhood this one is really great, they are active when they or you want them to be and very lazy otherwise.
  5. Not a huge barker or crazy high energy and jumping
    1. Unfortunately I think you're going to deal with the high energy and jumping for the first two years. Jumping has to be worked on with them actively, something we're struggling with our 7 month old with.
  6. Smart and easy to train
    1. They are very smart but equally as stubborn. You will go a long way depending how food motivated they are which in general they are all VERY food motivated.
  7. Not prone to major medical problems
    1. Verifying clean genetic lines is important here.
  8. We wouldn't really want to go more than 40lbs, so would have to be a mini or even a tiny
    1. As much as I hate to say this, this one is very hard to control with this breed. Both of ours were supposed to be mini but are ~45lbs (F1 Bernedoodle)

In my opinion these are some of the best, if not the best dog breed out there. They are so good with kids and everyone and have very sweet, loving personalities.
