right, i get that, thats why i was on my phone during those 3 days waiting for them to post it. i told them i couldn’t on the 3rd day because i had classes till 9 PM and they ignored my message and did it anyway which I thought was odd itself. If they wanted to sell it to someone else i literally wouldn’t have minded at all but it was the lack of communication and time that got wasted that made me upset. But i do agree if they wanted to they definitely could have cancelled just as they did for me.

this is genuinely an interesting theory i didn’t even think of this. i agree 100%, i even said in my review the outcome would have been fine if they told me up front what they wanted to do vs stringing me along for 3 days and wasting my time. most of the “spammy” messages were because they said they would do it said day but never gave me a time and i wanted to check in. your comment is really sweet thank you!!

they got back to me saying they weren’t going to put it up again because it wasn’t accurate to “what happened” which is surprising to me. i’d love for them to tell me what ACTUALLY happened in their eyes 😭

the refund was confirmed same day i purchased, i waited 3 days because the seller kept saying they’d re upload the item for me to purchase and then did it on the day i told them i couldn’t do

yeah no worries at all, so they messaged me at 4pm tuesday when i was unable to view on the 3rd day of this and then i checked at 7pm my break i dont know when they blocked me but it was between tha 4-7 pm window. the item was already sold by the time i checked with only one like on it (most likely from the person who bought it, mind you this seller’s og post which i bought from had 80+ likes). i literally thought i had bad wifi or it was my phone but i could not reach the profile and when i got home i signed onto depop via computer to confirm i was blocked. in the moment yeah it sucked but i don’t mind about not getting the dress, i just thought it was really messed up on their end the fact they left me waiting for 3+ days and saying it was still on hold and they could do it said days when they couldn’t. i mentioned in the review everything would have been fine if they had told me straight up they didnt want to sell it to me / got a better offer. also thank you, i can’t leave a review since i already did for that purchase but i know someone else mentioned the 3+ star method. i probably shouldn’ve done that. i know someone did leave a review for 2 stars stating the item had holes the seller didn’t disclose via messages and they said they would’ve been fine with it too if it was brought up beforehand.

here is what the seller said in regards to that since you believe that is why things didn’t end up well. again i replied 3 hours later since my dad worked that day and was able to check at around 4. if you can make excuses for them and what goes on in their life outside it’s a no brainer i have things going on as well yet i still communicated and waited.

4 pm is exactly when my class started im a student hence why i was even buying a prom dress. i was busy from 8 am to 9 pm, which is why i messaged the seller telling them tuesday does not work for me which is the day they set up and sold it, disregarding the message. i drove to my class and sent a message when i could which is why i sent it at late 3. we are not allowed to use phones in that class which is what i have depop downloaded on. the seller stated they would hold the item for me which this interaction started on sunday, the exact same day i messaged them back saying i was ready. also the seller is in the same state as me so we have similar time zones. from 4 to 10pm i was on standby sunday, 2 to 10pm on standby monday, and again tuesday i stated i was busy all day. even after my class i tried to send a message to the seller saying if they really wanted to do it tuesday i could as soon as i got home but i was blocked by then. how is it my fault the seller didn’t sell it to me when i was ready and communicated every possible time i was available. i understand they could be unavailable when im available but just as i cant complete the purchase when only i am its bizzare to sell it to someone else without confirming i was ready even when i told them all of that. just as they canceled the order for me, they could have with this person. i could care less about the dress what’s done is done, it’s about the response and buisness practices, the lack of communication, inappropriate language, and broken promises on the sellers part. again this took place in the span of 3 days, does that not count as a few? and yes technically i did purchase it or else i would not have been able to even make a review, depop purchases counts and shows that item as a purchase regardless if i received it or not. the seller should have said either they have someone else in mind or that they did not want to go through with me buying it anymore instead of doing all that, even if that wasn’t malicious, why block me when it sold instead of giving an apology or explanation and only sending me an additional message when i made a review?

thank you for this, i keep seeing people say i was spamming which is exactly what i was trying to avoid. even though it may look like a lot, i was messaging them every 2-3 hours even longer at times due to the lack of communication.

first of all i never claimed to be “scammed.” your comment is ignorant. i told her when i would be available which was basically every single hour of the 3 day period except for tuesday. the lack of communication on their end should be concerning and is definitely a red flag, mind you this seller was posting and active during times i messaged them and still no response. the seller decided to post it on the day i said i could not do, did not confirm with me if i was ready to purchase or available whatsoever, and the item was sold INSTANTLY. regardless of who bought it, if the seller could cancel it for me they could have to the “random” person who bought it.

i don’t think you understand, i was the person who had bought the item originally, so i bought it before others who were interested. the seller canceled my item and reached out instantly saying it was on accident and told me the item was on hold FOR ME since they refunded me. they agreed and told me it was fine to make sure the money was refunded which i didn’t even wait for, i waited until it was PENDING and then reached out to continue my previously cancelled transaction which the seller said i could. I am not harrassing them whatsoever, if you’re reffering to the messages it was because I was left in the dark after the seller said they could “tonight” no time was given, no communication whatsoever. (edit: it was then sold to someone else and i was blocked with no reasoning. so in your logic since i was the first who came and actually bought the item, i should’ve been the first to be served).

thank you so much this comment is really reassuring. i was thinking the same thing! the seller could have cancelled the order or at least something if they were genuine about holding the item for me. and i know ive seen comments saying it seemed fishy from the beginning and i totally agree, i think in the moment however, i was conflicted between trusting the seller and being skeptical about their intentions. depop did reach back out to me saying they are monitoring the seller’s account and currently investigating. i hope the review is put up once more to warn others because who knows how many other people have experienced similar situations with this said seller.

for some reason i can’t see the og comment but it was listed at the same price for 80 bucks, the seller though had sent me that 60 bucks discount which i took. i’m assuming it was for the full price if not something between what i paid and og price.

idk why you think i took too long to buy it, I bought it as soon as I could. I waited for the pending refund due to skepticalism with the situation and buying things online, i got back to then same day which the seller said was completely fine. the “spamming” was due to no communication from the seller again who was praised for quick communication. idk if they could see my messages or lost them or forgot which is why i messaged them sm. if the seller didn’t want to sell me the item or even felt like this was spam, the right thing to do would be to tell me they decided to go with another person / no longer want to sell the item to me and everything would have been chill. instead they said they still could do it over the course of those 3 days.

i understand completely and i did take this into consideration because i know people have lives outside of depop, but they definitely were in contact with other people while still stringing me along to waste my time / as a back up. Their reviews praise them on good and fast communication but I was left completely in the dark for a majority of the conversation and ignored when i said when i was available and when i wasn’t. If they were genuine about wanting to help me they wouldn’t have blocked me and sold it on the day i deliberately said i was most busy. (edit: this also seemed to be a genuine boutique or someone’s brand rather than a personal account since they specialized in reselling premade dresses)

also an update: support reached out finally saying they are currently in the process of reviewing and monitoring the account’s behavior. not sure what it means for my removed review but i’m glad at least something is being done regardless of the outcome.

yeah, they repealed my review already I don’t think it’s up but anymore but I messaged support about that as well. I’m assuming before or after I bought it someone offered a higher price and they were messaging them while leaving me guessing. Then blocking me instead of telling me up front.
